Latest Check-Ins

They asked us as many questions as on an airport, it was hilarious.

Report Check-In

We came at 20:30 and the border post was manned. Passport check some questions and 3 min later we went to Stewart.

FYI; if you drive out to the boat ramp in Hyder you should have service again to do the ArriveCAN. That's what we did today.

The border is very quiet, to enter Hyder you don't need to do anything, just enter. But to return to Canada they ask you to fill in the AriveCan app, just follow the steps and everything is fine. When crossing the border they will check your passport and ask you some basic questions.

Still the same. There is no control to enter Hyder, just when returning to Stewart. Open from 8am to 6pm. But outside that schedule it is mandatory to report the entry by phone. They requested the vehicle plates, origin, the data of the occupants and the only question was how long ago did we enter to Canada.

Covid Era: Tried getting into Hyder today to see the famous Fish Creek where all the bears go to fish. But there was a sign that read "Stop. Locals Only." So, we had to turn around. The Canadians were super sweet and let us right back in. But such a huge disappointment.

Report Check-In

Still the same! No border controls on the way to Hyder/Alaska. Only on the way back to Stewart/Canada. Also no border controls on the way to Salmon Glacier which is again in Canada. Open 7 days, 8:00 to 24:00

Report Check-In

I did not get a new 180 days entering Canada. So if you plan on a visa run to the US and back, don't count on it.
Regular check upon entering Canada, no check entering the USA.

There are no customs on the US side of the border; pretty easy border crossing in both sides. I even received new 180 days "on the way back" to Canada.
