A half mile or so before the coordinates the road was completely flooded with no dry road in sight so I turned around. The land use pass is available at https://license.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com
for $60 for 365 days of use.

Says you need a permit but no one was there to enforce it. While the drive was fine for my little 2WD sedan (a few middle puddles and potholes), I can’t recommend going in June. It is indeed a swamp, full of swamp bugs, and they will swarm you and your vehicle. Luckily I just needed a quick spot to sleep, but cooking outside the vehicle was out of the question. Even running out for a quick pee had me mobbed by bugs, so I pretty much locked myself in. I’m sure it’s great when it’s cooler out

We came, but failed to get the non-hunting permit due to lack of cell service on Verizon, had no problems. The road is dirt and gets washed out when it rains in some places. Luckily it has been a long enough since their last rain. We stayed with our 36' travel trailer towed by a F350 dually, and there were some tricky areas with tree branches, deep muddy ruts and deep sand (grateful for 4x4). Was told by a hunter that there is also a free county park campground not far from there with easier access and has cell service.

As stated by previous overlanders this area is closed to anyone not having a hunting or fishing license or use permit. Look at the photos that have been attached so far. You’ll see the sign. We did have Internet reception there, though. So at the entrance we attempted to get The land-use permit. We called the 800-number, but things were closed. We got on the Internet, and could not find a way to purchase the correct permit. So we went in, hoping to find resolution in some other way. The site could be very nice, but there was a bit of trash, Toilet paper scattered here and there, at the edge of the woods. Likely brought out by animals because it was not properly buried or carried out. There was some flooding of a road for reasons unknown, it was much lower in the morning when we left. As is our style we carried out some trash to make amends for not being able to pay. (Heck, we always do that...) I would not recommend this spot as a destination for anyone from outside of the area. But we did leave it better than we found it by one large garbage bag.

There is a sign at the entrance of the park that indicates you can only go there if you have a hunting/fishing licence or get a pass from the website; not sure if this new. nice place, secluded. fair amount of mosquitoes but you are in a swamp after all!
