Camping next to the river/falls. Official rates (if you want a receipt) are ZMW180 pp, ZMW90 for the car and US$15 for camping.
Caretaker is very friendly and told us no matter if you camp here or not he will not charge anything for camping, since he thinks it’s nonsense because there are no ablutions except pit toilet. Asked if we wanted to make a fire and he and some men collected some fire wood for us.
Waterfalls itself are nice to see and go down a few levels. There is a natural swimming pool for you to bath in as well.
Report Check-InThis is not an official campsite. They allow you to set up tent in the parking bay. Plus side is you get to take a bath in the river right next to the falls.
We had to spend one night here as there is no other accomodation in Chinsali.
The falls itself is ok, but won't go out of my way to see it.
Report Check-InSpectacular falls/rapids over different levels with very friendly older caretakers, the road is fine, even for big rigs although there are some lower branches and its dry season now. Camping is 225kw plus 125kw for a car (but negotiable) on the small parking next to the river and smaller falls, plenty shade, nobody around so I had the place to myself as the caretaker goes home in the evenings, toilets are pit latrines but clean and you can swim in the wonderful rock pools in the river and below the falls. Follow the small paths down river and climb yourself back up through the waterfalls! Highly recommended for a couple of nights to or from the border. Weekends does get more visitors they say...
Report Check-InNice viewpoint of the Chippma falls.
There are clean pit latrines and yiu can swim in the river.
There is no designated campsite rather a large picnic area/parking lot where you camp. However it is right next to the falls so very beautiful and remote.
Official price is US$10 pppn and US$5 per vehicle, a bit pricey but you can negotiate with the caretaker(s).
Report Check-InIndeed beautiful place. Road getting here is narrow and uneven: no big rigs. Not recommended in rainy season. Rate: 15 USD/ 200 kwacha per spot. Collected by ‘care taker’.
