Wild camp in the National Forest off Grady lake road past site #5. Open spot on the right. Ground is soft and would recommend a four wheel drive. Placed our teardrop in and set up camp.

CLOSED!! We were trying to find all of the grassy lake road spots that are listed in this app and a security guy blocked us in at the dead end, as we were trying to use our 1 bar of cell signal to figure out where to go next. He said all BOONDOCKING spots are CLOSED & the only option for us is to follow him back to the main campground office to see if there’s an opening for us tonight. NOPE! This campground is PACKED y’all! Like elbow to elbow packed! Not our kind of fun!
PS- hubby just got the lowdown from the office. There is officially NO BOONDOCKING ALLOWED due to all the areas are flooded, grassy lake rd is CLOSED for this whole year 2023.
This spot is actually open, we found that information on the visitor center of the parking next to grassy road.
All along the grassy road you can find 8 camping site with 2 to 4 spot each. Wonderful spot with restroom, bear storage, ring fire. One of the best camping spot of our roadtrip.
We even saw a moose next to the river near our camping spot.
A nice quiet spot. But we had a forestry ranger come early in the morning stating we couldn't park here and could get ticketed. He was nice about it. He did point out that further west down the road is a BLM
