Something not right?

Description

Just north of Tropic of Capricorn on C14. There is a ramp on the north side of bridge to access the river bed. High clearance required. I didn’t bother going far enough to be invisible from the road, but it is possible. Nice and quiet and easy to have shade in afternoon. Private property and risk of flash flood.

Latest Check-Ins

We could camped here one night after pushing our bicycles in the sand over 500m inside the canyon, and hide our tent behind a tree. Very quiet, one or two cars passed during the night.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately the ramp now has a locked gate and sign saying private property. At a push you could do an overnight in the rest stop next to the bridge. Beautiful place.

Report Check-In

The trail to the north east of the bridge is a private property (Oase guestfarm). Also, high risk of dangerous flash flood during the rainy season.

exceklwnt site, thank you for sharing.

we drove 150 up the ruver bed and had a great site with lots of firewood

Report Check-In

the turnoff after/before the bridge brings you to the Oase and also you can drive that road all the way up, where it joins the mainroad at another open gate after 5,5 km. Various options to stay overnight in that area.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot to spend the night. We drove a little further behind some big bushes, not really visible from the road. There are a few more tracks. 4x4 is recommended as there is some loose sand in the river bed
