Something not right?

Description

If you want to pass road 106 to Yanama and you are a foreigner, you need to pay S/30 now.
"EXCEPT PERUVIAN PEOPLE"
I am not racist because I am from Bolivia but I don't have a lot of money.
It's crazy to see the Peruvian minivan and cars passing, but you cannot pass if you don't pay.
If the provincial road is impossible, cross to the other side of the valley.

Be careful when you purchase the tickets, they tried to scam us. We wanted to buy two 60 soles tickets, the park ranger gave us one correct ticket and then said that it was the last one. So for the second ticket, he gave us a 30 soles ticket, without any adjustment. We said that he needs to adjust it or give us two correct 60 soles tickets (since that was what we paid). After a discussion, he suddenly did have two 60 soles tickets, but then he adjusted the date stamp, so that we have one day less in the park. What a dishonest park ranger. We asked for our money back and left. Will try again tomorrow and hope for a better park ranger. So make sure to check if you got the correct tickets!

We arrived at 5pm, no one was present to charge, the barrier was open. We camped on the official camping area, still nobody. The next day we started hiking at 6am from the campsite, at the ticket control station there was nobody. On the way back to 3pm still nobody, like camping. We slept on the road to the pass and the next day we went out by the village of Yanama where there is no checkpoint. Result we visited the national park without paying!

A good way to not pay anything and to do the Laguna 69 hike :
either enter the park after 3-4pm (I'd say after 4pm to be sure) and sleep in the park, or show up before 6:30am in the morning.
Start the hike before 7am to avoid the rangers.
Leave the park after the closing hours (3-4pm again) because they will probably ask you to see your tickets before opening the barrier for you to leave. OR, I think if you leave from the Yanama side, there is no control (at any time), but I'm not 100% sure about that info...

We paid By card! 180 soles. 60 pp. 2 adultes and 2 children 12 and 5 years because 2 days pass when you stay one overnight. Road until here is really ok for camper. Ours is 7,6m x 2,5m and 3,15 high. No need 4x4.

Report Check-In

we passed around 6:30 and we had to pay the entrance, still 30 soles for 1 day.

Report Check-In

Ok… honestly, we tried to avoid paying the entrance fee, so we drove in at around 8pm. Nobody at the entrance. We slept at the camping for the laguna 69 hike and got out of our van at 6am to start it. There was already a nice ranger. He told us, it‘s 30pP if we drive out again the same day (after we slept already one night here) and 60pP, if would like to stay for a second night.
We told him, that last night there was nobody down at the entrance, so we couldn‘t pay. He said, it‘s no problem and that we can pay at him, when we are back from the walk.
And that‘s what we did.
So… don‘t need to try to avoid the entrance fee… rather drive up the crazy road when it‘s still bright.

Enjoy ;)

30 soles for 1 person. Very good organised and they check the tickets. You can camp on the top.

Normal price for a national park for foreigners. and its 12 for Peruvian and 30 for foreigners. People were really friendly and 1 soles for bathroom.

Report Check-In

It is possible to sleep inside the check point where you need to buy the ticket
The ranger was here and was very friendly.
There are toilets and water.
We ask to the ranger if it is possible to Cook and he said Yes, he told us the place to Cook (but you need to ask first because it is a national park and also there are lots of cameras everywhere). The place is very quiet and safe.
There is no signal here.

Prices are the same as listed for 2021. Internationals: 30s/p for a day pass. We arrived at 6:30am - beautiful morning and only a couple of bikers! Only issue is we were short on soles, so we paid the full thing in dollars… but he also took our soles… too early to negotiate. We accepted our defeat.

Gate was left open with no one at 3 pm on a Saturday. At laguna 69, a ranger asked our tickets but we told us we already paid on the other highway - 107, where chacas is, and he said ok and let us pass. On the other highway we only paid 15 soles for 2 of us and a van so its a much cheaper option (and scenic) to get to laguna 69. Not counting petrol cost of driving the loop of course

No one here at 4:45. Need 40 characters.

they check your tickets at every main attraction and spot.
60 soles per person for 2-3 days, 30 soles for one day. IT IS possible for any vehicle to get to the other side of the sierra, so you can make a loop around it taking both 106 and 107.

Coming from Caraz reached the barrier at 9:30am. no one about just rode the bike under the barrier which seems to have been bent to allow Motos to do this...
