Stayed there before crossing the border. Due to criminal activity we decided to allow the full day to go from Laredo to Monterrey (not recommended to stop anywhere between the border and Monterrey). There is a computer at the entrance to know which sites are available.

excellent, mellow state park. prices $18+4/pp (the per person charges are waived with the annual pass). good T-Mobile 5g.

$18 for camping with water and electricity, $21 for full hookup, and $4 per person. We chose site 108, which is a pullthrough, though it feels small for big rigs. Our 24 foot trailer fit in well.

Even though this state park is in the city, and you hear planes, trains and automobiles, I did see a deer, a wild pig rabbits and birds. Park works hard to use it’s little bit of land to make trails feel like they’re long and out in the wilderness. Lots of day users on the weekends. Lukewarm showers and one restroom/shower building is definitely murdery so use the newer one in the busier camping loop
