Description

Quiet little pull off on a dirt road near the highway. Great road to hike along and engulf yourself in the pines. Saw some snakes and a turkey! Once you turn onto the dirt road you’ll drive for a mile or two then see a small pull off to the right with a dirt barrier keeping you from driving further. Over this you’ll see a couple fire rings. We pulled into this little nook and stayed for 2 nights without any problems. The road continues about 2 miles but this was the best pull off we saw. State park is a couple miles up the road where you can spend the day and do some swimming.

Latest Check-Ins

As those that have stated before, it’s a great little spot in the woods with few cars, gorgeous stars, and no one to bother you. Likewise there is quite a bit of trash here, please do your part, and it is difficult to find. For those of you looking to stay here, your best bet for GPS will be to put in Strawberry Rd and 3 Sisters Spring Rd. 3 sisters is the gravel road mentioned, continue on it for about a mile or so and you will see a dirt pull off where the map shows Cross Cut Rd. I did not venture further into the woods on this path and rather stayed in the dirt pull off. This area was nice and I started a little fire in the pit that was here. The frogs are very loud but it’s nice to sleep to. The stars are also very bright here, very little light pollution out here. Great spot!

If you’re not looking for this spot you could definitely miss it, you have to drive a little while on a dirt road so I don’t recommend if it has been raining unless you have an off-road vehicle.

There was a nice fire ring, I had good Verizon signal and it was pretty quiet except for the few cars passing by.

Google maps led us astray on this one. The turn on Huff Road from Strawberry did not exist. Off to find a different spot 🤞🏼

still a pretty decent spot. made it in from the west in a class B no problem. nice level spot. quiet with 4g coverage.

Attempted this spot and I can not recommend it. Seemed very overgrown at the time and the road leading in is a dumping ground. A real shame. Ended up going to the state park up the road (Lake Ouachita) and had a great time.

Handy little spot. On side of main track so plainly visible to anyone that passes but few did. Lots of trash along main track as you approach but site OK.

Solid spot in the forest. Stayed two nights. Only had 2 or 3 vehicles pass by.
Decent amount of trash (what is up with that Arkansas??) we collected a bit and carried it out. Please do the same.

Verizon and ATT worked well for us. We have a booster though.

easily made it in a minivan.
go towards the state park then turn right; google tried to take me on roads that no longer exist. no service with tmobile

Excellent spot for a car or van! The pull in is a bit small for a bus, maybe 16-20 feet max. A dirt burm separates the parking spot from an old dirt logging road. Plenty of trees for hammocking and space for a camp. Pegs in the ground might be hard, though, it’s hard packed and rocky dirt. A couple of hiking directions — the trail, uphill to an overlook, or downhill for a nice woods trek toward the ravine. I think there is a stream a miles hike away, but I didn’t go all the way there myself. 8/10 would camp again.
