Description

Very nice terrain on a hillpoint looking over the pacific and the village. It belongs to Punta La Barca which is a small nomad place ran by a ecuadorean-belgian family.
Nice atmosphere, good internet, warm showers, elektricity for vans, beachvolley field, common areas for cooking, relaxing and working, childfriendly.
Big motorhomes: there's a difficult curve to go down which looks scary, but everyone comes down anyhow and never anybody got in trouble going down or up the curve. Up to you though!

Amazing place! You can be part of the community but you don’t have to. We cooked together and had fun. Beach and climate was amazing! No bugs or mosquitoes. Best shower since a long time. Loved this place and the owners.

Very disappointing, unfortunately. Stayed 2nights .. the only thing we heard was a “hi” by the administrator in all this time. Electricity comes and goes, so does wifi; in total 30% of the time without electricity or wifi. Showers, bathrooms, kitchen are dirty. Didn’t feel welcome…

as well as commun areas (kitchen, shower ...)

we loved it !

beautifull place, has everything! like descibed in last comments. When we were there the owners were not there and family took care of the place. But not really good. The garbadge build up (also in the toilet) showers werent cleaned. I guess it is time for the owners to come back

One of the nicest spots we had so far: van parked overlooking the ocean (with whales), very clean facilities, (very) hot (gas operated) showers, many, many beautiful spots to chill or work. Our favorite was the cabin at the cliff with a desk for him to sit on the computer and comfortable sun beds for her to read.

We had dinner twice (USD 5 pp) which was prepared by the volunteer - very delicious. The common kitchen is very well equipped as well. We were here Tue-Thu both days some sales man came with fresh fruits, etc. Otherwise not much options to buy stuff. The owners also have connections to a skilled mechanic.

One minor remark: there is only one common toilet, which is fine as the guest rooms have their own. But a second toilet would give this FIVE STAR RATING an extra plus.

To much wind for our rooftop tent. We left.

A great hostel with lots of space for campers. It overlooks the beach (and whales) and the tiny village is a 20min walk away. Stock up before coming as there isn't much available in the village, though the hostel can provide meals for a price, and cheap beers. The hostel itself is amazing with excellent Wi-Fi, hot showers and very cool, friendly owners. We could happily have stayed much longer if we had time.

We came to spend 2 nights and ended up spending 6. We loved it. Amazing views, hot (Not electrical) showers, walk to the beach is 2 min down, the beach was empty and easy to swim with no rocks, beach games for free at camping, big kitchen with 2 big fridges, every Tuesday to Saturday people come to sell fruits & Vege in the morning, drive to Manta is 15 min, good vibe, friendly owners, super fast WiFi, cabana and office with desks to work, the last meters down to the property are steep gravel but we saw a truck with water do it

Report Check-In

Super place with incredible ocean view. From June to October you might be lucky seeing whales. Good facilities available, including great hot showers, excellent wifi in your camper and a covered platform with ocean view, lazy chairs and even a desk to work on. Inge and Juan are very nice owners. You can join dinner for 5$ pp. Camping also 5$ pp.
