Latest Check-Ins

Loved the campsite - especially the camp under the massive Nyala tree.

Elephants walking through the camp, lions been roaring from 3 am on and the hyena howling.

There are only 2 toilets and 2 shower (plus facilities for disabled) - so it can get tricky if the campsite is full(er)

The caretaker Given is looking nicely after the place.
The little kitchen even had brand new sponges and dish washing liquid. Everything was clean - including bathrooms.

I booked online and there was a promotion on - so campsite was only 252 Rand. Otherwise it’s 420 - for two, unfortunately no single rate.

There is very limited Vodacom signal.

The river drive was closed after the rains. The bird hide a nice spot to sit and watch what’s happening.

Would go back anytime!

I stayed at Mopane Bush Lodge Campsite to explore the eastern part of the park.

Downside of this campsite is you need to drive around to get there. So it’s a bit of a journey to take part at the sanparks activities, that all start at the main camp at the other side of the park.

Den Straat access road from Pont Drift is quite corrugated. Lots of potholes on the main road.

Such a stunning NP and worth a visit. However, the campsite feels rundown and neglected. In need of a bit of TLC.

Mazhou is a beautifull and tranquil campsite in a gorgeous part of the country. we camper under a giant tree with a beautiful view of the bush. little buck visit the campite. be aware of the monkeys, though. They are quick to steal anything in their sights. The campsite has great facilities but the water stopped working in the middle of the evening and had not returned the following morning.

Stayed in the chalets because campsite was fully booked, and they were absolutely beautiful! Set against the rocks in the ravine we had genet cats in the evening and giraffe during the day (and terrifying baboons but that’s beside our point haha)! Would come back just for these chalets as they were one of the best we have
stayed in. A National park to visit!!!!!!!!!

Great campsite. Very clean. Braai, electricity, water at every site. This park has a fascinating historical / archeological site (it's famous for a gold rhino found in a burial site from about 1200 AD), beautiful baobab trees and plenty of wildlife. The views are epic across the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers to Botswana and Zimbabwe.
