Namibia
Grassy terrain under trees at Okavango River facing Angola (within calling distance). Ablutions are OK.
NAD 170 (2 adults, camper).
The ablutions were shocking had to use ladies.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
exceptional location, however rundown.
Ablutions are basically non existant. Refuse drums are few and far beween and overflowing with old garbage. Not the best experience to be honest and could not wait to depart next morning.
This is one of the cheapest campsites we've used in Namibia. We paid 95 NAD ppn although we unsuccessfully tried to negotiate for 80 NAD ppn. It is worth noting however that the facilities are in poor condition. It seems this place had a golden period and has since been left to fall into ruin. There are two ablution blocks (both full of mosquitos): one is so dark you need a torch to enter, the other has some lights but broken sinks (one with a hole, the other taped up). Neither are well kept or cleaned. The only usable bathrooms are in the restaurant which itself is pleasant enough in a retro-African style. There is a pool table and cheap drinks at the bar. We had pizzas which were OK although we were charged more than the menu price (allegedly because of 15% VAT) however the calculation made no sense and didn't add up to the actual price on the bill. We've stayed in 20+ camps and bills have always matched the menu. Lots of birds and weird insects around making cool noises in the morning. You can see Angola across the river.
Report Check-InWe spent here two night. Nice and quiet place. Beautiful view of Angola, just after the river. We negotiated for camping for 80 NAD per person. They also allowed us to cook our own food. Local staff really friendly. They offered us their nsima and gave us a ride to town.
If you need to come here and you don’t have a car, take a taxi, many people told us is not safe to walk from town to here.
Price is still 95 NAD pppn. Staff is very friendly. Food is good. WIFI is working around the restaurant and pool area.
Report Check-InIt was quite busy when we came in. Holidays started and I think a few groups with kids stayed here. We were the only campers.
Loud music till around 22:00.
Dirty toilets near the campground. The one behind the reception was clean.
Lot's of mosquito's and tiny ants.
Water not drinkable, but they can provide drinkable water at the bar when you bring your own container.
camping: N$95 pppn, children half price
Report Check-In95 Namibian dollars for a single person.
Piping hot showers, BUT shower floor tiles are actually wall tiles so suuuuppeerrr slippery and quite dangerous when wet.
Lovely little bar, swimming pool, and grassed shaded area.
Good wifi near reception area, but none at the campsites.
Friendly staff and helpful.
Report Check-InOk campsite. Stayed 2 nights. Saturday there was a wedding. Staff came to warn us on noise. 10 clock stop quite again.
Report Check-InNice grasses camp sites. Very quiet and peaceful. Not too far from town. Ablution block is very ordinary though with not much pressure or hot water. The place is about to change hands so hopefully this will be addressed. It is a great place otherwise and just needs some TLC from the new owners.
Report Check-InPrice 2018: N$95 pp
Nice place to stay for a few days
Slow wifi at reception but good MTC signal for 3G
We attempted to stay here but could not get anybody to attend reception. Place looked nice but hardly anyone there, just a few local cars. Didn't see camping pitches though. Road there had been washed away at some point but now rebuilt.
Report Check-InNice spots under trees near to river, now 95 ppn, children half price
Report Check-InStayed in lodge rather than camping during maintenance work to overlander. Cost 750N$ although advertised at 600N$ on website. Good bar with pool table. Restaurant average. Nice location. Fishing costs 250N$ per hour.
Report Check-InGrassy terrain under trees at Okavango River facing Angola (within calling distance). Ablutions are OK.
