Baba Canyon | Wild Camping

Such a pretty spot to camp. We spotted it on the way to Alaska and pretty happy we got to stay there on the way back. We couldn't hear road noise much but we did get woken up by a couple of mice getting stuck on our sticky traps that are always there behind our cupboards. Not 100% we picked those up there but it did not help the sleep.

We stayed there 2 nights. The creek noise cancel the very low highway traffic. We did the Baba canyon trail. Very beautiful. Must do 1 day hike round trip in the river bed. Beautiful

Amazing spot off the highway. Just where the Baba Canyon Hike starts you can park close to the creek with running water! The water is actually louder than the road noise which is nice and calming. There is several circles for fire pits build. A few bushes hide your vehicle from clear sight but once the sun gets behind the mountains no one will pay attention to the spot since it’s in the shade. Across the street there’s also a big parking spot where you can probably sleep overnight. We went for a little walk in the evening right on the other side down through the forest and down to the creek. The view was stunning.

Upper carpark looks the best but you will need high clearance. Still full view of highway though. Hike in june has pretty high water, took me 1.5 hour to go just 1.3 km. Lots of river crossings, probably more than 10. Best views probably at start

Pretty good spot actually. Stayed at the upper level on the north side of the highway right close to the cool and clear creek. No real road noise as the fires south keep the traffic to a minimum. Great hike up the canyon! No cell service.

Okay just for a night, not far from the road and not private from others staying there.

There is actually a much bigger parking area on the other side of the road. There are also no no camping signs. You are hidden from the road here also.

Great spot for the night with a great hike up the stream to a couple of view points. The lower spot a small RV can fit comfortably. The higher spot, just a short distance further, would be best for higher lift vehicles, but the adventurous could make it without in dry conditions.
Both spots are near the highway but very relaxing with a stream nearby (good source for natural water) and the mountain top across the road.

Large spot at trailhead for Baba Canyon, beside Creek and really cool rock formations. Close to highway and in clear view of highway though
