Found an amazing place just off the Icefield Parkway and 15min from Saskatchewan Crossing and Banff NP overlooking Cline River and beautiful mountain ridge. It's a user-maintained recreation site only accessible by driving down bumpy dirt road. 4x4 recommended.
Camping permit required, 14 days limit.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Couldn’t get in, deep holes full of water, really muddy… do NOT recommend if you don’t have a 4x4. Just go a few km further at Wildhorse Creek Rustic Camping Area (Public Land) for easy access and lots of sites.
Report Check-InThe sheriff came in the morning and informed us that the area is subject to a camping permit, available online.
Since there is no service here, it is better to get it before coming.
as described, pretty nice spot above the river. the road was bumpy but doable with our gmc vandura
Report Check-InAmazing spot as others have said. Plenty of sites where people have gathered rocks for fire pits. The views of the river and the mountains are amazing. No cell reception, no other amenities, but amazing silence.
Report Check-InStill a great spot and super easy to access. Wouldn't recommend if it just rained a ton and you don't have 4x4. More spots further down where I'd say your average SUV ground clearance should be enough.
Report Check-InGreat camp spot, a few fire pits and beautiful views, close to the river as well. Lots of different sites to choose from, we stayed close to the road as we don't have a 4x4 and it was due to rain.
Report Check-InWe stayed here one night an it was absolutely beautiful. The view of the mountains and the river right next to us was insane.
Quiet spot as well
As described. Don't need 4x4, unless maybe when wet. Really nice place, heaps of room. No one else there when we stayed.
Report Check-InBumpy short road but we did it with a city rental car and pitched our tent at the first big fire pit on the right. Great spot, super quiet, not a lot of mosquitoes, great views... Recommended ! Much better than the other spot on highway 11 closer to Banff
Report Check-InThat’s the most scenic and amazing place we’ve camped so far. It’s truly amazing. You have spots with great views and other with wind coverage. You don’t need 4x4 for that.
Report Check-InAs described. Amazing views of the mountains and river. We had the place for ourselves, there are some spots along the dirt road, some of them even have fire pits. Definitely not for very big rigs, the entrance is narrow and bumpy, we did fine with our truckcamper. It might get muddy if it's raining. No sign of bears. No cell service.
Report Check-InGreat spot! One of the best free campsites we've found in a while!
Report Check-InAmazing spot. You can stay here and visit the parks. Don't need high clearance and right on the river
Report Check-InVery nice spot with an incredible view. 4x4 is not needed.
Report Check-InFree in midle of trees. Lots of place, wonderfull view of glacier, mountains and river. It is not necessário 4x4.
