Description

Huge parking lot. Dark and quiet at night and I believe there is some level of security. The spot has everything as well- walmart, autozone, sam's club, a movie theatre etc. We had a good night here.

Wifi available in the Walmart but not from the parking lot.

Toilets available in Walmart.

Latest Check-Ins

December 2023 still the same. Felt secure and for a city spot quiet in the night.

Estuvo tranquilo.

We slept here for one night and everything was fine! Super calm at night. We parked near the hotel

We sleep here for 2 nights. Quiet. No problem. We park side to the hotel City Express, nobody says nothing. No facilities. During the day we go to the waterfall chiflon. AMAZING! MUST GO! se the pictures.

No longer possible to camp here, but you can across the street by the Oxxo. Read on for the long version. ;)

We shopped here and asked the customer service employee is we could stay in our sprinter. They said that we would need to ask the security guards, as they themselves were not authorized to say yes. When we asked the security guard he said no, citing liability because they said the area is not safe and they didn’t want anything bad to happen. When we asked for another recommendation he said to ask the gas station across the street. (I can’t imagine it’s any less or more safe right across the street.) Due to the hour, dumping rain, and lack of other options we went across the street and asked the gas station clerk as well as the Oxxo employees, where we bought a new sim car for Entel, and they said it was both fine and safe. Surprisingly quiet night as the road quieta down at night. We even went to watch a movie across the street, our first in almost 2 years. Enjoy!

Coming from Cenote Chucumaltic we stopped here on our way to the Guatemalan boarder. We checked with customer service in Walmart who told us it would be fine to park overnight. Friendly and curious people around, security was patrolling all the time. The day after we visited Tenam-Puente and after we learned that we could not stay overnight there, came back to this parking lot. Also second night no issues.

We needed a filter at AutoZone in the front part of the parking lot and they said we could stay in their lot overnight, no problem. When I mentioned that the Walmart security doesn't allow sleeping anymore, they said their lot is "different" and they gave us permission to stay overnight if the guard asks. Very friendly, slept well enough for a parking lot.

Report Check-In

The security did not allow us to stay for the night in any place of this huge parking lot.
We asked to the nearby city express hotel too but they refused to let us park in their premises and we had to go.

Great spot to sleep, very quiet. 24 Security, store does close at night. They said they have lots of viajeros from around the world. Security said we could park close to the store/mall after it closed so they could keep an eye on us better for our security. It was great!

We spent two nights here. Quiet and safe.

Spent one peaceful night here, it feels very safe. Mall with bathrooms stays open until around 10pm. If you park near the Coppel there's strong open wifi.

We spent one night here. First we parked in front of Walmart/Sam's Club. After a car touched our van, we moved to the City Express Hotel. There is less traffic and the hotel has a night guard.

Safe place to sleep, you can find a quiet spot behind a building all the way at the end that is closest to town.

We had the state police come and say hello and ask what we were doing. They said it's ok and safe to sleep, and then made a few jokes with me. Overall a good Walmart experience.

Big parking lot, lots of stores. Spent a night here and it seemed safe and no one bothered me, however it was quite noisy with road noise and loud music playing well into the night.

Nos acomodamos para pasar la noche y la policía y seguridad del lugar nos aconsejaron que lo hiciéramos en la Pemex que esta en frente por seguridad. Pedimos permiso en la misma y no hubo problema. La noche fue bien tranquila.
We settled for the night and the police and security of the place advised us to do it in the Pemex that is in front for security. We asked for permission in it and there was no problem. The night was very calm.
