Chile
In a quiet street, on the bottom of Cerro San Cristobal. Free. Constant security patrols. From 8h00 to 18h00 it's difficult to find a parking space but afterwards there is many parking along the street. Therefore it's possible to park even a truck. We stay here 5 days.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Report Check-InWe were parked in this street for a couple of nights, but further down the street, next to the official car park. We would also recommend you to park down the road, as we saw a smashed window during bright daylight today.
Apart from that we had a great and quiet stay in Santiago.
Great spot in an expensive and safe neighbourhood. The security patrols all night long. We spent a week on this street, along with several other campers. The toilets are free and open 24/7. They are situated at the park entrance, just after the large paid parking.
Report Check-In Fiquei 2 dias nesse lugar.
Very good city parking. Quite in the night, busy in day times especially on the weekend. Very nice park good spot to explore the city. The musician was still there :D he is very friendly and plays regularly in the park in the evenings.
Ticket for the hole day teleferico and ascensor is 7,9k CLP for adults and 4,9k CLP for kids (2-11years)
excellent spot, calm, safe, close to city center, close also to the city park, metro station 10minutes away. We parked behind a musician who was living here with his caravan since more than a month and never had the slightest issue.
Report Check-InCerro San Cristobal. In this street you can park without problem. We stayed for more than a week without being disturbed. There are sometimes a lot of people during the day because it is the start of the cable car but the place is free in the evening and it is very quiet. Right next to the children's playground and next to the street sport. On foot you can reach the largest skyscraper in Latin America with its mirador and at its foot the largest shopping center in Chile. You can leave your vehicle and take an Uber to visit the city the area is safe.
Report Check-InWe spent three nights here. Very quiet. Nice playground and exercise equipment. Toilets open to public, free and are clean and even have toilet paper! Several other overlanders parked here as well.
Report Check-InGreat place! Stayed 5 nights.Super quiet oneway street with city surveillance. Felt safe, and Not busy at all. Difficult to find a flat spot, street is not straight. Toilets and great restaurant nearby. Water fountain in the playground park. Sky costanera on 7min walking.
Report Check-InBest in the city we found. Quiet at night, neighbourhood security patrols passing by at night. On weekends in it gets very busy with visitors. we had to queue for the toilet at 8am already
Report Check-InPerfect place to stop in Santiago, we spent 7 days here. safe and calm. We left the motorhome and went out to explore Santiago. You park on the street next to the Parking. There are always a lot of people. In the parking that is on the site, motorhome is not allowed, but at night you can enter and get water, there is a tap on the side of the stairs.
Report Check-InWe stayed parked there for 2 nights and 3 days while visiting Santiago. Perfect spot, close to the park and the supermarket in a nice residential neighborhood.
Lots of people there during the day because it is very close to one entrance to the Metropolitan Park but very quiet at night.
There are also some trees on the side of the street so you can park in the shadow if you want to avoid very high temperature in your van.
We were there with a VW Transporter with a cabin and perfectly could fit in, believe any type of vehicle could fit.
If you could come to park on Monday, it would be best for you to find space because the Oasis station of the teleferic is closed so there are less people coming and more available parking spot.
Otherwise, you could also park anywhere in the neighborhood, every streets nearby seem very quiet.
Report Check-InGreat spot away from all the rush in town. You can park after 8:30pm until morning. There's a drinkable water source in the children park entrance and toilets about 200m away from the place we parked. The park has a good infrastructure and worth a walk to the viewpoints. They claim this is the biggest park inside a town in all Latin America. This point is marked as "Wifi: Yes - average", but we only found wifi signal close to the pool at the top of the hill. No open wifi where we parked.
Report Check-InPerfect spot! Wifi and restrooms available at the park entrance just down the street. Restrooms are open 24/7, and the wifi was very quick for us! Perhaps because there weren’t many users. It’s quiet in the evenings and during the day - even with activity in the park. Patrol officers paid no mind to us! Very nice neighborhood and easy access to the city. Jumbo & an upscale mall is a short walk from here. There’s also a vegan donut place that’s worth checking out… SO good.
Report Check-InThis is a great spot to spend a few nights while exploring Santiago. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with lots of people walking dogs or out for evening walks. It is walking distance to providencia where there is lots of Restaurants. Any of the streets in the neighborhood are good to park for the night. There is a bathroom at the entrance to the park. Not very nice but it does the job, seems to be open all day/night. Also right next to the gondola park. It was like $10 for a round trip for two people. Highly recommend it has a beautiful view from the top!!
Report Check-InPerfect Spot for the City-Trip!
Stayed here for four nights without any problems. Security at the day and very calm at night. Metro Los Leones about 1,2 km walk, so you have a good connection to the city. Toilets at the park entrance.
Really nice spot. The parking is closed over night or lockdown, maybe winter at all but you can just park in the street. Very quiet and nice area, at the hill entrance there are nonstop open toilets, not perfect but it works. You can catch there an open wifi too, again not perfect but works.
I find it a sweet spot when you are in the neighborhood for some reason for example you have some business with Suzi. Their office is not so far, their notary even closer as well as plenty shops, cafes, places to eat, also banks including Banco Internacional which is very scarce and is the only fee free ATM outside of ridiculous Scotiabank opening hours. Finally, it is very near the middle of the city, yet just around the corner is a motorway directly outside of the city so access in and out is very prompt and without any tolls.
Report Check-Inquiet place, I didn't hear any noise at night. during the day difficult to find places to stop. best place in Santiago. away from the center.
Report Check-InWe arrived around 10pm and security at the parking said they are closed but advised yo park in front of the psrking place, on the street. They claimed it is very safe there. Did not hear a sound during the night, so I guess he was right. Public toilets are right around the corner and were open 10pm and early in the morning. Definitely a good spot for free overnight staying with a car/van.
Report Check-Ingood spot the relax for a few days. wifi in the gondola station, you can also get water from them. quiet and safe area. this is the best we have found in all Santiago.
