Something not right?

Description

It’s a Marina with hotel, restaurant and huge parking area for RVs.

A good option in Rio Dulce for big rigs. Right on the Rio Dulce, there is a clean swimming pool, laundry, toilets/shower and 24-hour guards. It’s rather quiet for Rio Dulce (note that there are thousands of trucks crossing this village and bridge). OK for 2 nights.

Parking area is big with vegetation. You can reach the village by walking over the bridge in 10 minutes. There is also a « Lanchas » service next door, that offers great tours on Rio Dulce and up to Livingston (either collectivo or private tours).

You can also refill your tank with water and have electricity. You will also probably meet peopel traveling by boat as it’s a Marina. Overall very good, owner speaks English.

For a big rig, we paid 200Q. It will be less for smaller one.

Not many options around so we came to Mar Marina. Toilets and showers are okay. Water in the shower is cold. There are two toilets and showers and also the boat visitors use them. The only downside was that the traffic on the bridge above was very loud during the whole night. So bring earplugs!

Nice place, overlooking the river and the yachts, showers with hot water, electricity and wifi.

We had a restful few days here. We first checked out Ram Marina which felt more like a boat maintenance yard than a nice place to stay for a few days. There was sandblasting with a loud generator and some other smoky and smelly maintenance going on right beside the parking area. Also there is absolutely no view of the water from this area. It was awful so we left our van there while we rode bikes over to Mar Marina to check it out.
Mar was quiet, had a pool and as mentioned in previous posts , lots of places to hang out and chill.
The owner initially said Q150 / night so we were on our way out when they came out to tell us that we could stay for Q100 instead. Nice!
When we went to leave Ram Marina the gate keeper insisted that we pay for the whole day even though we were only there about an hour. We said no and escaped out the gate while he had it open for other people. He likely just got tired of trying to explain himself as we pretended not to understand Spanish.
Mar was a delight especially when the owner let us borrow the red kayak for a few hours to tour around.
Laundry facilities are available for Q60 per load ( It’s a large washer) Ask at the office.

We went to this spot but the owner asked us 200Q, we negotiated explaining to him that another spot asked 75Q, he didn't want to know, we finally went to RAM marina and we don't regret our choice!

Two-night stay and we never left the marina. 100 Q/night for 2 adults, 1 child. We were able to park under a tree by a floating dock with a table and chairs, and near the hotel bathroom. One-room bathroom/shower with cold water only. Pool had no water on a Thursday. I think maybe they emptied it to clean before Semana Santa. By Saturday morning, it was full. WiFi worked fairly well. Best at the restaurant. At our parking, it would go in and out, but was still usable. Our son enjoyed the playground by the restaurant. We had several meals at the restaurant. There was usually something wrong with our order, but no big deal. Service was friendly. All in all, a good place to rest after long travel days and handle some heavy rains.

The marina has great amenities ( pool, showers, clean toilets, roofed sitting areas ) and friendly staff. We payed 80Q for our Nissan Xterra with rooftop tent. You can hear the trucks passing the bridge during the night, so if you need a good nights sleep, maybe not recommended.

The best to stay in Rio Dulce. Quiet at night even though you can hear some trucks on the bridge nearby
Good starting point to Livingston with the public lo cha that takes you just in front of the hotel.
Friendly people, good food at the restaurant.
You park on a flat secured place close to the water
Hot showers and clean bathroom

Great place to stay in Rio Dulce.

Big shady parking lot, big rigs friendly. We were the only ones here and it was quite quiet except from the noise from the trucks on the nearby bridge - just needed ear-plugs for the night and it was alright.

Access to the pool, the restaurant and a resting area with hammocks, even has a little gym.
Hot shower and spotless clean restrooms.

Water is available onsite. Ask the security guard for the right tab to use - one of them uses water straight from the lake - not recommended.

The marina’s gates are closed the whole day, with security guards day and night - it feels really secure.

The owner are very friendly and make you feel confortable right away. They have two small dogs, casts and a parrots.

Wifi kind of wonky. The best reception is definitely in the restaurant, using the MarinaHotel network. You will have to ask for a day-password to the owner.

We paid 80Q/night and stayed two nights there - highly recommended

Great campground. Clean bathrooms. Clean Swimmingpool. Price goes after the size of your vehicle - for our VW Van it was Q100 per night - haggled down to Q90 😁
A bit noise during the day from the trucks going over the bridge but it did not bother us.
Great place to explore or just to chill by the pool and lie in the hammocks.
