Best affordable camping site around near the park, nearly full, so book in season, everything for a true camper, glampers eisch! Sorry né!
Hot showers and clean bathrooms in the communal ablutions.
We paid N$175pppn
Wood at the Engen N$60
Most items expensive but considering it’s in the middle of nowhere I suppose it is what it is. The Engen has a wide variety of goods including some basic repair stuff
The people at engen and campsite are confused! They said they did not have propane at all. Confirmed with security at the park gate - they used to sell propane here but no more
Report Check-InLPG gas bottle refills no longer available here, apparently they stopped doing this two years ago…
Report Check-InBig campsites with Braai stand and electricity on each stand.
Ablution is really nice.
a few trees on each site. 175 pp for the sites where you share ablution. 225 pp for those with private ablution.
The reception is at the store by the petrol station. Store is surprisingly well assorted and staff really friendly.
Cheaper to stay here than inside the park, but you have to wait until gate opens at 7:30 to enter.
OBS! motorcycles not allowed in the park anymore, unfortunately.
Not recommended for an extended stay. By Namibian standards, this place is busy and noisy. There is a lot of artificial light around, meaning stargazing is disappointing. Amenities are not as good as elsewhere for the same price point. on a huge plus: there are two swimming pools - this area gets really hot.
Report Check-InNeat campsites with good space between each one. Private ablutions and washing up area. Hot water and electricity. At the entrance to the Park, into Sossusvlei. Next to the road which is not busy or noisy at all. NAD160pppn. Recommended.
