Namibia
For Cyclists: you can pitch your tent inside the station parking lot, very friendly officers around and there is borehole drinking water available (tap is next to office entrance left side where the flowers are). Restroom facilities available. No Wi-Fi but strong MTC.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Still available to cyclists. Officer will likely give you the key to a private half bath. We used the sinks for a sponge bath. Friendly folks here as others have said. Watch for ants. Bathroom filthy - might not have been cleaned since building opened in July 2016. Cold drinks available across the street at mini market. We enjoyed this one.
Report Check-InWell received by the police officer.
IMPORTANT: this place is very precious for cyclists. Motorized overlander please do not ask to camp here, otherwise they will end up sending away everyone like at the police camp in Kongola.
Report Check-InAlso traveling by bike, we followed Lukas‘ advice and it was SO GOOD! Camped right next to the entrance behind the flowers and spent a wonderfully calm night here. When we arrived it seemed that they are very used to cyclists asking for a camp spot and they even got out a key to unlock a toilet building for us. The police station and the toilet building are very modern for the region, surrounded by a fence and there is even a police officer on duty during the whole night so we felt safer than safe. Definitely recommended to cyclists!!
Report Check-InFor Cyclist: you can pitch your tent inside the station, very friendly officers around and there is borehole water available (next to office entrance left side where the flowers are) I drank it so it straight so it should be safe:)
