Hi i just helped the owner to set up the description.
I stayed in a nearby casa for one month.
Raul and Denny are a very nice and sweet couple and the place is the best in Mompiche!

Report Check-In

Favourite coast spot! Lovely couple.
Great shower which gets hot when it’s sunny. Clean toilets. We used outdoor sink to do dishes etc. Howler monkey in trees will be your morning alarm clock. Quiet and away from town - But short walk along beach to town where you can get all you need. Epic surf spot out front at the point and can walk to playa negra for surf as well. The restaurant is also really good.

Hemos llegado por recomendacion de otros viajeros. Excelente los baños, hay lugar para acampar con césped, cocina se comparte y muy buen atención de Denny. Su telefono es: +5930984713331

Great place to rest and enjoy nature. Beach in front of the restaurant (open on weekends and very good). Bathrooms and showers good. Lawn to park his truck and enjoy the kindness of Raúl and his wife. We spent 3 weeks! For surfing, spot in front at break point at low tide but not for beginners. Alternatively, spot in the river at high tide before the town (accessible by the beach in 15min). For animal lovers, you will meet Mawi, Loky, Café, Candela, Pepe and the howler monkeys in the trees out front.
Wonderful !

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay, super clean bathrooms and cool showers (warm in the day). You can hang out in the restaurant area, great view, decent wifi. The owner, Raul, just started building a cabin above the parking area, so it was a bit construction noisy, but just the same as anywhere in town. Watch for bitey ants in the grass. Howler monkeys in the trees next to us! $5pp still. Enjoy!

Tres bel endroit au bord de la plage a 15 mn a pied du centre par la plage. Deux ecoles de surf vagues pour debutants. 5 $ par nuit sanitaires tres corrects. Bonne wifi. Vraiement un bel endroit !!

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot right on the beach in an elevated stretch of grass. Small restaurant with few guests and fresh fish/shrimp. Right at the end of the beach, quiet and tranquil, perfect weekend spot to get away. Clean showers, clean bathrooms, clear water, perfect for swimming or beginner surf waves. After the rains the mosquitos are kinda bad for a couple hours though, be advised. Still $5 pp

(Turn onto small dirt road at La Langosta restaurant)

We came here today. Camping is no Problem 5$ pps. We felt very welcome by the owners. They have plenty of space and you can choose to camp down by the restaurant where you have wifi reception (7-10MBits) or up the hill with a nice view towards the ocean.
They have simple but clean Toilets and Showers. The wave is right in front of the restaurant perfect place for surfing! Only works in Lowtide. For mid to Hightide „Playa Negra“ is just 10 Minutes by foot away.
Mompiche itself has some flair to it aswell. Some Restaurants and Bars aswell as some surfshops. Also an ATM!! to get cash in the center.

New restaurant now at this spot, not the awesome campground someone previous mentioned being in the works…before Covid. Owners ok with us and another overlander parking overnight. Asked $5/pp. 2 flush toilets and a bucket shower for amenities. 3g claro service. SUPER muddy in rainy session. We had difficulty getting in and out in our van. Not a good place to go when it’s wet or might rain, but amazing location for the beach and surf.

Not open when I stopped by… better spots down the beach and you can walk to the point from any of them..

This has to be the best campground in Mompiche. We came here thinking we were going to stay a couple days and ended up staying TWO weeks. This is the closest you can possibly get to Mompiche point break. The views are wonderful. There is a beautiful chill/hangout area with tables and hammocks right on the beach. The camping area is grassy and there aren't too many bugs. The bathrooms are clean. Always fresh water for showering after swimming or surfing. The family are one of the kindest we have come across - they greeted us on arrival with fresh fish and crab (complimentary) and they invited us to their family Christmas lunch and NYE dinner. We had such a fun time with the kids and took them surfing for the first time on Christmas day. They also gave us bananas and Papayas every second day. We felt as though we were part of the family. It is a 5 minute walk into town along the beach. Super quiet, no noise. Dogs are very welcome. Wifi is fast. They originally asked for $5 each per night, but we worked out a deal and ended up paying $4 each. THIS IS OUR FAVOURITE PLACE SO FAR ON OUR TRIP (California-Ecuador).

We came here on a rainy day, all of the bad road and the area is a muddy desert. No possible to stay with 4 tons RV. But we think on sunny days it will be very nice.
Bathrooms aren’t ready yet and they construct a new restaurant ...

By far the best place to stay in Mompiche (considering the Malecón is gone)...friendly Roger is setting up a campground in the end of the beach, in front of the wave. Beautiful views, quiet, and 5 minute walk to town for everything you need.

He is installing bathrooms and cold showers and will offer wifi in the next few weeks. There is also electricity and even a nice cabin with hammocks that you can use.
