Description

Farm/Hotel 20 minute drive outside of Puno. If you are into quality horseback riding (Peruvian Paso) this beautiful farm is worth a visit. Plenty of space for campers but it’s better to email before coming to [email protected]. The owner Zeze speaks Spanish, English and Dutch and used to be a tour guide all over South and Central America and Antarctica. Beautiful grounds, very secluded and peaceful with horses, cows, sheep and Alpacas. The 19th century ranch just recently started to welcome tourists and offers different accommodations and services. Look up their website for more info.

See tourist info pin on the main highway for the turn off to get here. It’s a narrow 2 km bumpy access road. After about 1km you will come to a Y, take the left road and just go all the way to the farm.

30 soles per car (2 people). Additional 20 soles if you want a hot shower. No wifi. Spotty cell service.

Latest Check-Ins

Zeze was very welcoming, but we didn't contact in advance.
We had the whole place for ourselves and decided to park in the "garage" building, because of some rain at night and this was the best flat spot we saw.
Toilet with toilet paper and cold shower.
Hot shower in another building 10Soles, potable water and electricity to charge phones etc. in the bathroom. Some Bitel signal depending on location.
Zeze organized a Taxi for us to get to the harbor for a Tour to the Uros. Contact Demetrio: +51 951 300 582 via Whatsapp or call.
Would recommend staying there, even if the road is in a bad shape, we did it in our VW T3 without 4x4, might be tricky to leave after rain without 4x4.

Beautiful spot. We didn't contact ahead, when we arrived no-one was around, we parked up and made ourselves at home and the caretaker came back a few hours later. The first 200m of the road in from the highway is the worst, after that just bumpy but no big deal. Any vehicle can get here with care. See other tourist information pin someone put on the highway at the turnoff.

A great place to stay before heading to Puno or the border. If you’re using google to get there you’ll notice that it says you’ve arrived when clearly the ranch is down in the valley no where near you. If you’re coming from the north keep going uphill and you’ll spot a dirt road on your left. There’s no sign but that’s the road you take. As stated before take the left fork at the narrow Y and when you get to the Y at the property take the right fork. 30soles per night, more if you opt for a hot shower.

Wonderful tranquil place to rest. It was freezing cold at night but wonderful warm and sunny during the day. Went for a leisurely stroll on the farm and along the train tracks. You can book an outride if you want to experience the smooth gait of these Psso horses. We learnt a lot about these specific Peruvian horses. Great host Zeze and his brother made us feel very welcome. We paid 30 Sol per night for us 2 and our Land Rover for camping. For extra Sol 10 pp you can enjoy a hot shower in a separate bathroom. Can recommend this place.
Due to Independence day, more road blocks and -8 degrees in the mornings we decided to stay 3 more nights in one of the lovely rooms in the old farm house with private bathroom.
Zeze is a formidable tour guide and I joined him and a French family, who also stayed on the farm, to the no touristic floating islands on Lago Titicaca. A wonderful interesting and memorable outing.
Once you stay here, you learn a lot about Peru, the people, history and their culture. We loved our relaxing stay at Fundo Chincheros and can only recommend this farm, its owner and host Zeze, to anybody coming this way.

It is now 30 Soles per car, 10 per Person for hot showers and extra if you want to cook in the kitchen. The camping spot was overgrown and very uneven, you have to watch out to not break a leg in the high grass, because underneath are some pretty deep holes. We have 4x4 and high clearance, but the narrow and steep entrance made it pretty difficult for us und we ripped our mud flap off in the tall grass. It is beautiful and quiet, but a little on the pricey side for what you get, but perfect location if you don't want to stay in Puno but still staying in the area.

True to reviews this 600 acre farm was a paradise to camp in. @ 20S per nite/car for parking only and 10/person for the use of hot showers and camp kitchen. you get to pick your camping spot. The very colonial air bnb home is great for a family and more. I wish I have more time to spend here. It was breathtaking to see the 17 Stallions and the one Black. He was handsome and he knew it. Stop here for a few days and walk along the rail tracks the vast expanse of land with stunning panoramic sights. we picked to park in the garage as it was threatening to rain and it hailed... good call.

Beautiful farm where you can spend some relaxing days in the sun. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious. WiFi is available. Showers are clean and hot! We paid 100 soles pp for the room and 20 soles pp for camping. Zeze is a great host and will help you with everything you need. For 80 soles pp you can ride horses.

Very nice place. Would stay again and ZeZe I’d very nice and accommodating. Warm showers but no WiFi. The designated camping area is just the horse grounds, so get ready for lots of horse poop and not much area is flat. But ZeZe says he’s working to make it more camping friendly!

Pick up Taxi service to Puno between 50-60 soles one way.

Really beautiful and quiet place. If you are camping there’s no wifi but Seisei let us use the wifi at the rentable rooms to re-up our phone data. Maps.me took us down the bad road and didn’t seem to have the better road on its map. But there are a couple of sharp turns that might be hard in a bigger vehicle on the better road. Definitely recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Really nice farm with Alpakas, Cows and horses. We stayed 1 night with our motorhome. The path from the main road is a bit challenging, but easier than we thought. Zezé is very helpful and gave us great tips for traveling in Peru. Furthermore he helped us with the SOAT. With foreign plate you can not get it everywhere. He figured out an agency in Juliaca for foreign plates. I have created an separate iOverlander entry in Juliaca for insurance.
I can really recommend this place. If you are interested in horseback riding this is the right place.
It is good for camping, but there are also rooms to rent.

Report Check-In

Great farm, very calm and with nice view to the lake. Enter from the south fork of the main road. The very kind and helpful owner Zeze said the north one was even bumpier, if manageable at all with anything but a motorbike. Great place to relax, especially if you are into horses / animals. It gets muddy in the rainy season but nothing unusual. Toilet and hot shower (electric, needs time in advance) were just fine. Movistar 4G coverage exists but is kinda unstable, Zeze helped by providing a WiFi repeater with his sim. 35 soles for the night.

Nice farm, very peaceful and quiet. We paid 80USD for a private room since it was very cold and rainy and didn’t feel like camping, however there is lots of space for rigs and tents. The room was great, I think a bit expensive comparing to Puno, but worth it comparing how private and peaceful it is. The host Zeze is very welcoming , he can also cook if you tell him in advance, the meals are delicious although also a bit expensive

We didn't have any problems getting to the farm with our Campervan. It's a rocky dirt road but nothing unusual here in SA. The farm is very nice and ZeZe as well as Elmer and his family are very friendly and welcoming. Apart from hot shower as well as potable water a kitchen and electricity are available too. Some small improvements still to be done but they are working on it. You can do short walks around the area, the kids of Elmer were happy to show us around. Was our first stop in Peru and we liked it.

Report Check-In

Winding down a long unsealed driveway. I would think any vehicle could drive down here. Superb hosts, zeze helped us with many things.

Report Check-In

Very difficult access from the waypoint provided. We tried and turned around at the first bridge. Narrow rough single track road needs high clearance and four wheel drive.

Report Check-In

We got here and honestly didn’t feel was worth the money. They asked for 15 dollars to camp with hot showers. No shared kitchen, no internet, no views of the lake. We left.

Beautiful farm and welcoming place.
Enjoyed our walks here and horseback riding.
Elmer and his family are very friendly and helpful. We paid 50 S for 2 in a truck camper including bathroom and hot shower. It is totally worth the money, very peaceful setting.

Report Check-In

Owner was away traveling, but the caretaker family was welcoming and friendly. Peaceful place with horses wandering around. Kids played with our daughter all afternoon. We only used toilet, no other facilities, but you can pay more for hot shower, electricity, etc if you need it.

One of the best place for camping&Hotel. Big farm, big place for all size cars. Really and helpful nice owner Zezé. Horses (you can take ride) and peacefully farm. We camping really comfortable. Toilet&hot shower. Recomended totally and good to support. Better if you write before to come. Nice walks and views to Titicaca’s Lake.

Lovely spot! Rooms are 50$ incl breakfast, camping is 15$ with use of a bathroom. We decided to camp and for another 5$ we could use the perfect living room, quite essential in this time of year when it's cold as soon as the sun is gone (5PM at this location). Not exactly cheap, but worth it in our view.
Note that to get here you first take the road that ís shown on maps.me, coming from Puno it's about 500 meters before you're level with the GPS location of this place. Once on that dirt road keep left indeed.
Because of all the space there's clearly no issue in safely storing a bicycle or parking your rig. www.fundochincheros.com

This was a highlight! A tranquil place out of the poluted and cramped city. Very friendly and helpful host, the caretaker is even more helpful if possible, his children aswell, though I doubt their mechanical help speeded up things much. The Ranch has beautiful buildings and a small but very old chapel. 25 dollars per vehicle for camping with all amenities, electricity etc. 15 for camping, the view and using the bathroom/shower. We were here for just a day but I'd have loved to go horse riding and hiking along the lake, highly recommended. little road leading to the ranch is a bit hidden, but gps point and directions are accurate.
