Cute little rest area, I just stopped for a short break but it is officialy allowed to camp here. It is an above average place to spend the night if you just happen to pass by and are in need of a place to sleep. There is a gravel area where you can park and maybe even pitch a tent (see the attached picture). The nearby road is not heavily trafficked. Toilet facilities and some shelters with tables are available as well. You are allowed for one night only (see attached picture). I don't see a reason why anybody would want to stay longer anyway though.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
stopped for a break. nice spot. typical rest stop. clean bthrms. pet area. only stayed 2 hrs, but would stay overnight when in the area.
Report Check-InMaking a correction to my check-in from 4/26/23 - there are 4 covered picnic areas, not 2.
Report Check-InRest area was open. Arrived around 9pm. There were two other overnighters parked in the lot. Restroom was open and decently clean. And there were two well-lit picnic table areas. The road is right next to the rest area, so you can hear cars passing through the night. It's not heavily trafficked though. To me it was just white noise. Overall, slept easily and felt safe.
Report Check-InTemporarily closed. There was a sign about one mile south. Site has safety cones and yellow tape blocking the main parking area.
Report Check-InI parked on the gravel part because there are limited parking spots and wanted at least little space. Very nice bathrooms and picnic shelters.
Report Check-Inexcellent rest area, one of the best in the country. palapas, drinking water, no Wi-Fi but excellent cell signal on T-Mobile, clean, warm bathrooms and you can't beat the price or convenience if you have to get going quickly the next day.
