Mexico
Update: No toll both here
A couple of guys dressed like civilians were asking where I was going. (They we’re stopping every car ) weird vibe, but they didn’t bother me. Just made some stupid joke and let me go
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
there was a point a couple meters north, but nothing at this specific place.
Report Check-InNothing here today, there is a little tent at one of the points but no one was there.
Report Check-InDrove through around 1100 today (Saturday) and no one was here- no sign of a checkpoint here or at the prior 2 spots listed nearby.
Report Check-InNot an official police or army checkpoint. Unarmed civilians. They were stopping some vehicles in both directions. They made a weak attempt to stop us but we smiled, waved, acted dumb and slowly kept rolling through. They waved back. No problems.
Report Check-InDrove through mid day. No sign of the previous checkpoints other than a rope tope and a couple guys sitting under an awning between the divided highway. When we passed through last year there were a ton of people and a handful of unmarked vehicles at the checkpoint. This area did have maybe 12 burned semi trailers though which was interesting to see.
Report Check-InNo one was around this spot this morning at 7:30 a.m. Maybe it’s too early for them.
Report Check-InNo officials doing any inspections when we passed. A very temporary structure next to large rope topes with a few older men not in uniform that did not pay us any attention as we rolled by.
Report Check-InNot police or military, an illegitimate group. There was a line and they were picking random cars to pull over. They are very rough and forceful and made us get out of our car. We pretended we don’t know Spanish and they were telling each other they want to extort us and to find weed in our car. They kept trying to separate my husband and me and get us away from the vehicle but we refused. They finally let us go after trying to claim a vape was weed oil. There were police half a mile up ahead so we asked if that check point was legitimate and they told us no.
Report Check-InWorst checkpoint we’ve ever been to. Had five agents on us at a time, they had a woman feel up my bra and down my waist, two agents were searching inside while another two were questioning my fiancee. One agent grabbed our wallet and started taking cash out, they kept asking how much we had and how much our car was worth.
Nothing was taken and they finally let us go but if I had a re-do I’d avoid this check.
Side note* we had friends (a family) an hour ahead of us who were just waved through, and friends (also a young couple) an hour behind us who received the same treatment. Maybe targeting young, childless, couples?
Report Check-InNo tollbooth, this section is toll-free (combined mex15/ mex 15-tol).Just kind of agriculture/fruits inspiration.
Report Check-InNot much activity happening here at all, no one stopping northbound cars and the guy sitting at the rope/speed bump didn't even look up for us heading southbound (4pm on a Tue afternoon). Probably just your luck.
Report Check-Inwe just passed through going north, they were stopping traffic southbound.
Report Check-InWent through the checkpoint at 12:30 pm. Very official and easy to see it when approaching (Lots of food vendors ready to sell to slowing traffic). Saw random cars and big rigs being stopped and questioned. Some being searched more then we were. Was stopped and asked where we were going (PV), if we had any weapons, what’s our names, and if we were smoking anything! We smiled a lot and then we were told to move on.
Report Check-InRolled through with a smile and a wave. maybe it's best to time these checkpoints with siesta/cena?
Report Check-Intook the free road from mazatlan to just north of tepic (turn off to San blas) the free road was in great condition and saved some beer money. there was a police check 100m north and south of this dodgy tent. looked like they were vendors... stick To the left lane and they won t hassle you. police waved us through heading south. We were never waved through once in baja
Report Check-InWe were in this point at 15:20, and nobody stooped us. They are relaxed in a chair.
Report Check-InIt’s just a fiscal check, mainly trucks, we haven’t been stopped. Everyone was from Policia Federal
Report Check-InLocation is a little further north than this place was indicating. Mostly large semi trucks pulled over but asked us to stop. Asked where we were from and traveling to. Asked us to pull over for simple inspection. Then another unofficial looking guy came over to joke with us asking for a dollar to buy a coke. We told him we didn’t have a dollar. And then the official came back and asked if we had any weapons or drugs and said it wasn’t mandatory but if we wanted to give a donation so the guy could buy a coke we could. Strange. We said thank you and they let us go.
Report Check-InFuck me.... The worst checkpoint ever since I travel. ..
5 guys *fiscal police* went all over my car couldn't do anything, always asking for drugs& weapons.... Hopefully there is nothing more in my truck now...
If I could choose again I would drive the Baja back.... avoid sinaloa
went through this checkpoint this morning. kinda weird. We were asked to pull over by an inspector with a uniform on. He checked the front and looked in our camper. We had some tools in the front that he inspected and had lots of questions about a foldable saw. Asked if we had drugs or guns. Then asked how much money we have on us and asked us to hand over our wallets so he could inspect them... weird. Then he wanted to keep our saw and kept saying it was no good. His manager came over and after it seemed like
some joking around he gave the saw back? It seemed like they were just messing with us but it was weird.
A few guys sat by a tent reading their newspapers, didn't even look up as we drove past. Lots of road vendors selling mangos at the moment!
Report Check-InDrove by on my way South. Their tent says physical inspection. Just waved me through.. They seemed more interested in cars and trucks going North. One or two kilometers farther South there was an actual police checkpoint. He asked me what I was carrying. I told him my dog, my friend and myself and nothing else.. They are always interested in the nationalities also..
