Description

Great campground by the side of the lake, very quiet and with a beautiful scenery. Each site has a table and bench and some even have power. There are hot shower in the morning and at night, a cabin with tables and a wood stove to eat in the warmth and even another cabin with an asado. You can also walk a little bit to two beautiful miradors to the lake and the sea. The friendly owner asks 5000 CLP per person and also rents kayaks. There’s no WiFi and it’s too small for big rigs.

What an amazing lakeside campsite! And probably the only one open this time of the year in the area (we found at least 5 closed ones and also talked to locals in town). We stayed 3 nights but could have easily extended it to even more, as there are many things to do and see around.

Facilities: clean grassy sites with lake views and sunrise over the lake. Clean bathrooms, hot showers and kitchen sinks. Roofed tables with light and electricity to every site. Private firepits with the possibility to make campfire (look for wood in the forest next to the camping). Mini hikes on site with 3 viewpoints and a cave. The ocean coast is 15 minutes walking distance or 2 minutes by car (don't miss the sunset). Kayak rentals for 4000 clp/hour. Super friendly owner, he keeps his animals (sheep, cows, horses and chicken) separately so the campsite is clean and tidy. Very quiet place, best for a good night sleep. Easy access on a good 2WD road.

All in all highly recommended, we would come back anytime again. We paid 5000 clp per person due to low season.

There is a lot of pride of ownership here. Seems like a multi-generational property that is very well kept. Sites are pleasant with a covered and lighted picnic table plus electric and water at each site. Bathrooms are nothing to write home about but the shower was hot! 7000pp and our site fit a 4x4 with a pop up tent.

Great location. Many spots offered, all with covered tables. Had hot shower, but very old facilities. The place was basically empty but we stayed at the far end and it was very peaceful. Didn’t have any issue with flies. Had a very nice walk to the beach from the campground on a trail

Perfect site by the lake. Good site for vans or tents. Individual sites have benches and power charging points. 5000 pp.

Lovely spot to camp - we had the whole place almost to ourselves. The hot water worked great but the facilities themselves are very old and a bit grimy. The horseflies make it impossible to relax outside during the day but do go away in the evening.

we stayed for 2 nights in this amazing camping site!
an amazing view on the Huelde Lago with an access to a viewpoint.
price: 5000 CLP per person.

A really lovely campsite with great facilities like covered picnic benches with lights and charging points, as well as hot showers. There is a small sheltered cabin to cook and eat when it’s windy.

Nice campground at the lake. Bathrooms are small and not the cleanest. The second shower at the lady’s site has good warm water (even when it wasn’t a sunny day). Only campsite what was open in the area of Cucao. 5000 ppn

I agree in everything that it was a nice place to stay. Indeed not accessible for big rigs, but for my Volkswagen Transporter okay.

Exactly as previous iOverlanders have described. Beautiful location, good facilities. 4000 pppn. And there’s even a football pitch!
One of the nicest places we’ve been.

I think I found a little piece of paradise! small campground, with more than enough space for your tent and car. Even in high season pretty quiet. View over the lake and some sheep a d chicken in the back. Could easily stay here for a few weeks!
