Chippewa campground | Established Campground

We were camp hosts from labor day till season close Oct 31st 2023. The campground will reopen may 1st 2024! Quiet hours are enforced, no dogs allowed to be left unattended.

We arrived after 10pm when the park was closed for the day.

There were campers inside and the place seemed to be operating, but all of the gates were pad locked shut preventing any entry or exit after hours.

Seems like a safety hazard if someone had an emergency in the middle of the night and couldn’t leave.

Large campground, 4 loops with around 30 sites each. We had 30 amp electrical service, there was a central water spigot and pit toilets. Paid $25 / night and was able to reserve the site same week. Trees and grassy areas separate each campsite. Mostly quiet during quiet hours. The park has great access to the river and be sure to find the trail heading down to Rock Creek (near the pedestrian suspension bridge.

Potawatomi Campground. You have to reserve a campsite at least 2 days in advance and thats the same website for any Illinois state parks. Pretty quite! Had showers! $25 plus fees. Has electrical hook ups as well.

We paid just $8.00 per night for a basic site. No hookups. Pit toilets. Central water spigot. River access. Picnics table. Some spots have mature trees. Nothing fancy but cheap. Hook ups sites are $20.
