Latest Check-Ins

Still closed. The red signs only mention that camping on the beach is not allowed, but rangers told us you cannot camp anywhere between the shore and main road. This is due to a turtle reserve that continues untill Ru’ays in the south. So no camping on cliffs, no camping in dunes.

We wanted to stay here and arrived around 3pm. No one was there. At around 6pm a car came and the ranger told us that camping is not allowed here. We should go to the Turtle Reserve/Hotel. There they wanted 8 OMR pp to do a walking to see the turtles. We didn’t do that and left without seeing turtels 😞

Report Check-In

no pets allowed anywhere at the beach!
no problem to stay with pets in cliffs.

Report Check-In

For dinner, a vehicle comes with three men, the youngest divorces us that he is from the government, we can stand here, but with 100 m distance to the cliffs and are not allowed to enter the beach between 20 and 5 o'clock.
Afternoon and to night you hear the motorboats of the coast roaring along, what does that deal with the protection of sea turtles?
At night and in the morning it is then totally quiet.

Report Check-In

It’s pretty barren up here, just rocks, but you have a view on the pretty beach. We saw a few turtle tracks but no turtles (it’s off season atm).

Driving up here, there is a sign stating turtle watching is forbidden. The reserve is also checked by rangers both on the water and on the cliff. They visited us in the evening and told us the beach is closed from 5pm to 5am, it wasn’t a problem to watch the beach from above. It is not allowed to camp too close to the edge of the cliff, according to the rangers.

The place is popular with tourists since it’s listed as a campsite on maps.me. Some clearance would be nice to find a more private spot to camp, further from the tracks. 4x4 not really necessary.
