Place where people camp outside the park. There's a trail to the top of the hill. Gate only open on weekends and holidays. Dirt road suitable for 2wd.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We could not access the end of the road with our van, it is too damage
Report Check-InNice, quiet place. The park can still not be visited from here (the ranger says repairs). Entry to the park further west possible, see "Magallanes National Reserve"
Report Check-InStreet was too bad. I know gravel roads but this one is really awful.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot for a nice quiet camp. It is a Friday night so there were many locals camping along the road but there is so much space that you can have a private spot very easily. Lots of birds and rabbits around. The canyon is beautiful.
The gate to the park didn't open on Sat morning though. There are no clear hours when it will open.
We parked just outside of the gate. It isn’t the best place with a great view, but it’s quiet. We were not disturbed at all, and you can have some privacy, which it isn’t always easy to find in cities.
It has become windy in the night, but well.. it’s Patagonia! 😅
Report Check-InWe drove the dirt road up until the gate of the park. The gate is only open on weekends and holidays, and closed Monday till Friday. End of the road has a rock/gravel area - this is 200m short or the current GPS coordinates. Area suitable for 4 or 5 vehicles, and level with a little puzzling. Wouldn't recommend for tents. Grassy area across the fence has a "no acampar" sign. Dirt road also okay for 2wd.
