The driver was given a breathalyzer test going both into and out of El Calafate. Drive sober folks!

Checked passport that’s all but there was a really long line of cars.

When we arrived in Calafate a friendly officer stopped us and asked where we drove from and from which country we were. Didn't check any documents.

when we entered Calafate it was windy AF and they weren't checking cars. when we left it was raining cats and dogs and they were not checking cars.

very nice and friendly, just checked our passports (and asked about the stamp from the southernmost post office in Puerto Guaraní, with a big smile).

We were stopped going in and out el calafate. They wanted to know where we came from or going to, asked for documents and checked some items in the van.
Tone of voice was friendly and everything was fine.

When coming to el calafate the officers just asked us where we are coming from and after telling them el chalten, they let us through without any check. On our way out they gave the driver an alcotest, checked his license and wanted to know where we are going.

We got stopped in our camper and they very politely asked for documents (passport only) and for a sniffer dog to come into our camper. Police took our passports for checks and came back later. They where quite curious about our British license plate and asked loads of questions about our journey (inbound and onwards) but I think it was mainly out of curiosity.

Interpol checkpoint. Show your IDs and they check them inside against their system.

Officer inside but we weren’t stopped when entering El Calafate.

2 police officers stopped us and checked our documents, car, bags, fridge inside the van, etc. during 10-15mn. They are doing it really seriously...

We were stopped on our way out of El Calafate. A nice officer asked us some questions about the solar panel and then let us pass. Did not ask for any documents.
