Description

As of April 2019, Toby & Sara have temporarily closed the B&B. Motorcycle tours are available through Around The Block Moto Adventures. Motorcycle sales and services are available a few doors away at Macedo Racing.

Nice family style B&B, only two rooms (one with a single bed and one with a bunk bed), very friendly American owners, private bathroom, warm water, breakfast and dinner included, free use of the washing machine, fast internet, 20$ for one person and an additional $10 for the second person (if the bunk bed is shared). Well equipped workshop to work on your motorbike or have a good mechanic work on it for you. We could park our motorbikes in their workshop, parking for cars can be arranged. Toby organizes motorcycle tours in Peru and knows all the great routes! Best to call them in advance at (062) 50-3431 or 942-363-715 or email them at [email protected]

Toby and Sara Shannon operate this B&B in association with their motorcycle tour/service/repair/rental/sales shop Around The Block Moto Adventures. They cater to pass-through adventurers who want a place to stay and/or a place to get their motorcycle serviced/repaired, and to folks who want to rent one of their motorbikes (dual sport 250's, mainly Chinese) or participate in a guided tour with Toby. You can also store your bikes there if you need to take a break! I participated in an 8-day tour in the Andes and Amazon basin with Toby, then went back and did a one-week solo trip in the mountains. I rode a 250cc Chinese bike that Toby has had great success with - he buys the bikes, strips them down and rebuilds them as durable long-distance bikes capable of taking on rough trails at altitude (I rode up to 15,000 feet). I liked it so much I bought the bike and store it there!

Latest Check-Ins

As of April 2019, Toby and Sara have temporarily closed the B&B. At their request, I am making this update. It's a lovely place and they are great hosts. Look here for news of the re-opening in the future.

Welcome "motoqueros"! Just wanted to update a bit. The rate per person in a private room is $22 per night with all the amenities: full organic breakfast, high speed internet, washing machine and route advice. If 2 people share the room with bunkbeds there is a $6 discount off the total. We can store or ship your extra gear, purchase bus tickets in advance and more. We also have new mattresses ;-) From your hosts

Don't stay there.
22$ for a room here is rip off. bed are horribles, I got a terrible backache. The lady convinced us not to stay in the hostel next door, pretending it's a "love" hotel. We ended up paying 22$ instead of 25 soles (the hotel next door) for small lousy room with not even a chair to sit.
Breakfast is good, but she can't even be bother to cook eggs (instead she prefers to ask if we really want eggs... hoping for a "no"). She doesn't make enough coffee and ask if we reaaaally want more.. prepare a nice omelette the next day and give us a tiny portion, leaving the rest in the kitchen hoping to keep it probably.. not my definition of sharing.
Of course she doesn't forget the lecture of the bible before eating, imposing her religion on us by not acting like so. I hate it. The love of christ is very expensive.
Definetly no dinner included.

The mechanic from the rental place is really nice though and very friendly. Can't say anything about Toby about he wasn't here but he was really nice to get us some tyres ready for when we arrived.

Definetly recommand the rental place and the mechanic, but avoid this so called b&b like pest.

Excellent B&B run by Sara and Toby Shannon. They are associated with Macedo Racing where I rented and then bought one of their bikes. Having this B&B next door really made the logistics easy - you can stay there when you are picking up or returning or waiting on a repair.
