Chichaoua | Informal Campsite

Good place to spend to the night when travelling south from Marrakesh.
Parking is in front of the police station and very close to the main road with quite a few dogs around, so expect some (but managable) noise.
Met also other campers who confirmed they went to this place because there seem not that many possibilities in the area to spend the night.

(We ourselves wanted to stay in Agafay desert in the first place, but have been sent away there as overnight stays in caravans generally are not allowed (for no obvious reason as there is enough open space) as we were told by the area's guard.

arrived by bicycle (solo female cyclist) and they sent me to the motel at petrom gas station instead :/

Arrived in the car park with motorcycle, walked across the road to meet police! Asked if I could put a tent up in car park, no problem at all! Brought the police man a bottle of water 5DHM to say thanks!
Cafe across the road, where another police man paid for my breakfast!
Nice people!
To stay in the car park is free and good security as police station is access the road!

No problem to pitch the tent next to the parking inside the fenced area. Police took photos of our passports, no problem if we stay overnight.

Large free parking area in the walled compound of the community centre, bordered on one side by N8 and the other N11. No services but plenty of shops, restaurants right on the doorstep. Police station opposite. Great place for an overnight stop if travelling from Marrakech south or vice versa. Loads of fuel stations in town
