Fabulously beautiful national park and small, rustic campground overlooking a lake. Guarded and gated at night. Lakes, small restaurants nearby, hiking and horseback riding. You are camping in the mountains and it’s cold so bring warm clothes. The drive is on a slow, winding mountain road but we saw big trucks and buses so I guess big rigs can drive it, but I’m not sure about that.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It's closed at the moment. Don't know because of covid or seson closing.
Report Check-Instill closed for covid
steep road!! : the road in the mountain is doable. but be aware that from Cuernavaca to Huitzilac is just a horrible steep straight road. so don't go there with a week engine or with a heavy loaded motorhome (full of water and gasoline).
While my visit at the place, the WC were without water. I used my porta poti.
Report Check-InNice overnight place, but no ‘must see’. The other lake is at walking distance. This is more a local ‘day use’ place, crowded during the weekend. Boats and horses available for rental. With small restaurants and pick-nick places. We stayed 2 nights. Although there was announced an entrance fee of 23 MXN per person per day, nobody there to pay to. Friendly guards at night!
