Description

Located on North Sylamore Creek it is typical National Forest Campground with picnic tables, fire rings and cooking grills. Very nice tent sites with a bath house with water, toilets and showers. I don’t believe it has any electrical hookups or sewer hookups. No cell service unless you hike up to north sylamore trail.

We stayed for 4 nights ($15 per night) and it was absolutely beautiful! Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Each campsite has a grill and fire pit. Shade everywhere. The creek was cool and refreshing. Visited the caverns ($15 per person) What an amazing sight! Highly recommended! The hiking trails are well marked and maintained. No laundromat capabilities near by in Mountain View. Ozark Folk Art Center in Mountain View was nice but they charge an entrance fee $17 per person which does not cover anything inside but was a nice outing for the day. No Verizon cellphone reception at campground but is available at the Caverns.

This place is amazing. 15$ (self-pay station) for a night near a lovely stream AND is has clean bathrooms with showers. It was busy on a Saturday, but got very empty towards Sunday afternoon. As previously said, careful if the weather’s supposed to be bad since you can get stuck there.

HIDDEN GEM! This is a beautiful little campground right on the river with trail access to north sylamore trail, and just down the road from Blanchard caverns and mirror lake. Hot showers and bathrooms- no electric except one outlet in the bathrooms. Parking/camping spots are level with a fire ring, charcoal grill and picnic table. Bring your own firewood as there is none for sale. $15 per night or $7.50 with an interagency pass like America The Beautiful.

*** CHECK THE WEATHER before coming. There is a creek crossing coming into the campsite and it floods with heavy rain. I was stuck here an extra day after a bad thunderstorm rose the river a few feet. All in all a beautiful place to be stuck!!

Well maintained campground with tables, grills, firepits, bathrooms with free hot showers!! Right by the water and we had to go over a water covered road to get to this spot (see photo). No problems in a 2wd van but definitely read the warning signs. Only 1 other campsite being used, very quiet this time of year!

Awesome campground, busy during the weekend with locals but woke up Monday to only one other tent camper. Located right next to water to swim in. Felt very safe too. $15/night self pay. Discount w NP pass.
