The road around the north side of the Lagoon is amazing, with great views all around. However...
At this point there is a deep (70+ cm) water crossing. The water is slow and the bottom is a mix of rock and mud. This is the deepest of 4 crossings to reach this point from the east.
Directly after the crossing is a steep hill. The road is deep sand all the way up the hill. In our 4x4 Toyota Tacoma it took some speed, our locking diff, and some maxtrax (sand ladders) to get through this section.
Proceed with caution at this point, especially if you are here during the rainy season. However if you have a good 4x4 this is a really fun challenge.
