Great camping spot in Medicine Bowl National Forest above White Rock Canyon with a nice view. There are several places to stay in the area. A moose passed by in the evening just 50 yards away.

About 6 miles off the freeway on dirt road. Fresh snow on the road but fine pulling our 27' Airstream. Didn't need 4WD. Plenty of room to turn around. One other camper. Stayed one night passing through on I-80. Worth the 15 minute drive!
Report Check-InGreat spot, 5 miles down a dirt road. Road was a little washboard-y but managed fine in our Promaster van. Beautiful stars.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot, mosquitos get bad when there is jo wind but the sunset is worth it. 2 bars verizon, 1 bar t-mobile
Report Check-InWe arrived at night and were the only ones for the night. It was EXTREMELY windy - it woke us up and we ended up just leaving very early. Definitely recommend parking closer to the trees as I think this whole area is known for high winds. Beautiful area though. We did not light a fire, but it looked like the fire pit was recently used.
Report Check-InSecond visit to this great spot. In the dark a van pulled up to park next to us in a forest full of empty camping spots. Overlanders, this is kinda scary so please try not to do that.
There are new (enforced) fire restrictions in place so disregard the fire rings at each site. No fires permitted as of September 2022. Check signage when you arrive to see current status.
Report Check-InFive miles down a washboard road. Quiet spot with a really nicely built fire ring. One bar Verizon. This is bear country so keep pets on-leash and carry bear spray when out and about. Great place to stargaze. Without light pollution we were easily able to see the Milky Way and several shooting stars. Short, unmarked hike to a nearby cave. 16 day camping limit. Closed November 15 to April 30.
Report Check-InThis location is not closed. It's open during summer months as mentioned below. I'd look for a better spot though, this is right off the road and there's a fair amount of traffic. Several "seasonal" trailers parked (very annoying and illegal) and as mentioned, generators are plentiful.
*As a side note - if you see that someone is parked in a spot, do not pull up and park behind them, especially in the middle of the night. A very rude guy in a sprinter did this to me and then left used TP on the ground when he left. Come on people, have some decency.
Wasn't able to camp here, place closed Dec 1st through May 15. Looks beautiful though!
Report Check-InGreat road with many sites. Passed a bunch that were occupied by hunters this time of year and found a perfect little place in the aspens to shelter during high winds. Washboard road is easy to travel in 2wd rear wheel Ford Transit 250 at slowish speeds. 2 bars Verizon.
Report Check-InSeveral sites at this location. We loved it. Beautiful views. Some traffic but quiet after dark.

This was was amazing! the spot that the directions took us to was occupied. Went went a little further down the road and found another spot that was amazing. Absolutely beautiful area.
Report Check-InWide open field with fire pits and great western views. A large site on the east (left) side is tucked into the trees.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot, but there were so many mosquitoes we had to leave to find a spot elsewhere.
Report Check-InGorgeous spot up in higher elevation. Plenty of spaces all along this road with spots to fit any size rig. Saw an elk on the morning walk. Windy but protected with trees.
Report Check-InBig flat areas on both sides of the road. A number of trailers running generators all night. It’s about 6 miles up a washboard dirt road.
Report Check-InFound a cool fossil up here. Pretty mind blowing when the vast majority of Wyoming looks pretty flat. The road was bumpy and gravelly, but fine to drive with our sprinter.
