Description

Tiny state park with 10 camping spots, $15 per night. This is a clean little place right off old highway 50 and I do mean directly off 50, some camp sites border the road with only a short post and rail fence for separation. There are a few garbage cans scattered throughout the camp sites and each site has a table and fire pit.
Bathrooms available at the day use area 150 to 200 yards from the camp sites.
The only water tap we found was either turned off for winter or frozen. There’s a river nearby and supposedly hiking and fishing but we got there at 2330 and left in the am as we were on our way to Utah. This place makes a great one night stop over when you just need to get some sleep. We were here on a weekday in Dec. with a RTT

Small, street noise, bathrooms, not bad for the price $20

Report Check-In

There is free drinking water from a water fountain near a small yellow fire hydrant as well as a sink in the group day use shelter.

We stayed on a Tuesday night in early October. The cost was $15 which was very reasonable. Of the 10 campsites, about 6 were occupied when we arrived at 4 pm. The park is on the east side of the town of Dayton. The campground looked like it could use some tidy up. There were some wayward pieces of trash. The day use picnic area has some beautiful trees that were showing there fall colors. There is a small landscaped area by the restrooms surrounded by a wooden fence. The facilities at the picnic area looked clean and neat.

I agree with the other reviewer that said that the restrooms are too far from the camping area for evening/early morning use. It would be nice to add a restroom to the camping area.

Correction for our original write up. There are bathrooms available at the day use area. Maybe 150 to 200 yards from the camp sites. No biggie of stroll in the day time but could be an issue at night. We used our porta pooper as we got in late and the campfinder program we used stated no bathrooms.
