Dispersed camping site on BLM land along side Highway 31. Level, a few trees, easy access. Nothing special but convenient if you're travelling on 31 & need a place to sleep.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice area far enough from highway to not be bothered by traffic. Several spots for bigger rigs. 15 mins from Silver Lake.
Report Check-InGreat blm camp we had to ourselves, quiet despite close proximity to road. 2 sites accessible by any vehicle; ; more need high clearance. Don’t miss the picture rock 50 feet south of road at the pass, walkable from camp. Watch out for rattlesnakes we nearly stepped on one curled up near a rock.
Report Check-InWe had reservations at the nearby COWBOY DINNER TREE (yum) and wanted a place to spend the night. This spot is well described EXCEPT the part about nothing special. If you look around there is another camping spot 50m uphill from the first one you see, be sure you have the vehicle clearance for a few rocks in the dirt road. Keep going (makes for a very nice walk) and you’ll come to a dry lakebed (pond?) and the road keeps going from there. Lots of deer tracks and coyote tracks to see, and sweeping views. This spot is convenient and quiet, and dog friendly.
Report Check-InPulled in to check this spot out but didn’t stay as I wanted to get a few miles further down the road. Plenty of space for several rigs and the area a few miles North on 31 is gorgeous.
Report Check-InAs described, quiet, relatively level. Plenty of room for up to 3 big rigs.
