nice setting but US$ 25 for one person is way too much. basically double the amount I payed at Elephant Sands lädt night. No wonder it's empty here 🥴

New prices for camping in 2024 now USD 35.00 pp/night

Awesome camping sites on the Zambezi. Nkwazi's campsites are prestine, spacious with exclusive ablution for each campsite. Friendly personel and therfore they deserve a very positive yes!

Spent 2 nights here. Lovely location, private campsites, clean ablutions.
BUT
I had 4 visitors after midnight, who ran away when I challenged them. I'm sure it was an inside job by locals because I was the only camper on both nights.
I was VERY LUCKY to not lose anything except sleep.
Until the owners improve security, I would AVOID!!

The camp is under new management. The place is neat and tidy. We paid &20 pppn. Pity that there are not campsites on the riverbank but you may use the lounge and bar area with lovely views on the river.

Campsites ohne River-View und dicht beieinander. Gepflegte Anlage mit Restaurant und Pool auf einem Deck über dem Zambezi. Mit 25 $ pPpN aber overpriced.

All the nice things said by others about this camp are true and even better than expected. A haven in the heat. Friendly and welcoming staff. By far one of the best camps we have been to. The ablutions are spotless and well kept and well thought out. Highly recommended. We did not feel it is overpriced and we are budget conscious overlanders. Stayed for 2 nights but could have stayed for 2 weeks.
(I am adding that i respect the views of other travelers but must say that the 1st review that pops up for this camp is not fair). Please dont be put off by that and come and see this camp. Other camps could learn a thing or two from Camp Nkwazi.

Best run camp site I’ve seen in a long time. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. $20 pppn

Truly magnificent place! The campsites are immaculate and clean and the attention to detail is second to none. Spacious, green and shaded stands with dedicated braai stands, water taps, electricity, kitchen and ablutions. We were walk-ins and still everything was perfectly in its place. The deck that leads to reception floats over a stunning water pond towards the main lodge restaurant, pool and decking overlooking the Zambezi. Managers Salomé and Gawie are extremely friendly and runs a ‘tight ship’!

We paid USD20pppn and kids under 12 yrs camp free. They lit the boilers around 6pm and the ablutions were cleaned every morning when we woke up. The restaurant has decent food and the wifi is good.

Our only negative is that we couldn’t stay longer!

A beautiful campsite on the banks of the Zambezi. The sites are grassy and private. The sites are set back a little from the river, but you can enjoy the river from the bar, restaurant and swimming pool. They also do boat cruises and have other activities on offer. Good wifi in the bar. During Covid, we paid 450kw pppn. Our kids were free. The staff were amazing!!!!

We can't believe what just happened! We were told some days ago that we could have lunch at Camp Nkwazi.
(FYI: We decided that day not to camp here, because it is above our budget and according to us not worth the 25 dollars (or not even 20 dollars, which they suggested). Campsite facilities are OK, but is in the bush and not overlooking the river. We decided to stay at Kubu Camp next door (see our review - great place!).
So, we came here for lunch and, when entering, the owner who was about to leave the property, told us lunch is for guests only. OK, understandable. We said we will just have a drink and went into the lodge. In the meantime, the owner apparently phoned the barman to say that he is not allowed to serve us anything, not even a drink! What a contrast with the super hospitality of KB and personnel at Kubu Camp! Rather go to Kubu, inclusive of beautiful views!

We really loved this place!
Owners and staff are so nice and helpful.
Even though ablution are made for 3 plots. They make sure to spread out campers so you most likely have one ablution for you self.

Nice swimming pool, nice bar and a really good restaurant.

They do so much to make their guests feel welcome.

One of our most beautiful spots in Zambia. Everything is very clean and well kept, there are several grass pitches with a lot of shadow under big trees all have electricity and BBQ areas. A place to relax and feel good. It is with 25 dollars per person but one of the most expensive at all. Gate for larger vehicles is about 3.4m

Lodge is very good but expensive
