Mama Pierina Annex and restaurant | Hotel

The room for 25,000 was okay, the garden in this busy city is cute. But the food is extremely overpriced for what it is. We had Moussaka (just okay) and spaghetti bolognese (bad) and the prices are very high for what we were served. Staff is very kind and we were happy that we could park our bike safely using the back gate. We also stayed in room 3 and although you don’t get the noise from the city it is located right next to the restaurant and that’s somewhat noisy. But it stopped at 10pm and we had a good night sleep here. Breakfast was disappointing. Instant coffee, sweet bread, overcooked egg and marmalade with a million E numbers . It’s what we usually expect and skip when we get rooms for 12,000 here. I was hoping at least for a cup of fresh coffee bit no luck. In short, room okay but I would eat in town!

Double room for 2 people with AC for 45,000 including breakfast. Private bathroom with shower and western toilet. Bed is very comfortable and room is clean. Not noisy at all, had a great sleep.
The restaurant is now located in the back area where you access the rooms. Previous comment about looking shabby was due the restaurant being moved, it is a nice quaint restaurant now. Had a very tasty dinner for reasonable prices. Greek food is available. Breakfast was tasty also.
The host is wonderful, very accommodating and makes you feel like family. It is like a home away from home. She also helped us source a good local mechanic for an oil service.
Worth staying here.

They don't offer camping at all but seems like a nice quiet place.

The place is nice and clean and we feel very comfortable now. According to the price you get good value 🙂 The rooms are well equipped with good furniture. The photos are not fitting anymore. It is nice and quiet in the hart of the noisy Morogoro.

Mama Pierina is gone, but her daughter is running the place now.
Simple rooms for 35.000 Tsh, with AC 45.000.
Simple menu, no Greek food anymore :(.

I unfortunately believe that Mama Pierina is gone ... the place must have been charming, but everything is abandoned, the roof of the veranda is falling apart and there is no more running water ... Everything will soon be covered in lush vegetation. I could have a salad and they are making chicken, but for how long?

Nice place to stay en route to Dar es Salam owned by Mama Pierina, Greek lady. Range of rooms available. Nice room with AC 45000, nice double with fan 35000, basic room 25000 (room 3 - thats what we chose and it had double and single bed), en suite and including breakfast. Guarded and gated parking available.
did not ask about camping if is still functioning but there are facilities available, outside bathrooms and kitchen area. Big rigs can pass also through the back gate.
