Description
Plodd Stop, a new purpose-built Overlanders stop completed in early 2016, is the inspiration of Lesley and Dave Goodchild, who are themselves experienced overlanders.
Plodd Stop can accommodate up to five large vehicles and several motorcycles in a completely secure yet tranquil setting. Planted with mature palm trees, the complex is gated and illuminated in the evenings.

Ideal for 4×4 and motorcycle travelers or indeed for overlanders wanting a break from sleeping within their own vehicles, Plodd Stop offers a first floor twin bed-roomed suite (2 x single beds) with its own large private balcony, or a ground floor self-contained apartment which has its own kitchen and with a twin bedded room and bed settee in the lounge area, can sleep up to four adults. Both units are furnished to a high standard and have an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen television, radio, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries
We also offer long-term vehicle storage should you need to return home before setting out on the next stage of your adventure.

On my way from Northern Europe I found many nice places to stay. However, some were real overlanders hubs and safe havens, e.g 3Gs in Armenia and Tak Taku Guesthouse in Iran. Plodd Stop is the third. Such a nice place to stay, and David is an extremely nice guy with a big heart for overlanders. This is the place to chill out, organice work on your vehicle, do laundry, or just digest your travels. Very nice and cheap rooms if you don’t want to stay in your rig in the courtyard. Highly recommendable. David is also very knowlegdable about Thailand and the surrounding countries.
Report Check-InI LOVE here. Dave is a great host. Perfect place to just relax after pedaling for a month. Loved the rooftop entertainment area. We stayed here fore 4 nights - it was great!
Clean showers & Toilets and a nice relaxing area with a pool table on the roof!

Good place for overlanders to stop. All facilities needed including electricity and a washing machine. Run by Dave and Lesley Goodchild, a former overlander who helped us getting into Thailand with our campervan. Dave and Lesley were in Europe at the time we visited, but his staff (Mr. Art) was extremely helpful, a.o. in getting replacement service batteries.
Report Check-Ingreat safety place built for overlanders. Trucks, motorhome, SUV, cars motorcycle and bicycles can come her, there's electricity, water, toilets, shower's (extra clean).
there's also beautiful rooms with AC.
On the rooftop you will find some tables, one kitchenette (fridge microwave) and a billiard table... very nice beer garden.

Great place to stay. Dave is lovely and really helpful with lots of recommendations of places to go, things to do, info about border crossings and more. We felt super relaxed here - it is great to stay somewhere specifically designed for overlanders needs! Hot showers, clean facilities, fast WiFi. The only slight downside is that the road is a bit noisy at night/early in the morning - couldn’t hear it when we stayed in the room, but could from our roof tent.

If you need to eat or drink, you should go to Old Bill Bar, Glenn the owner is a very kind guy, very helpful. He help us to find a perfect garage to do some jobs on the car.

Report Check-InThis is a busy popular stopover and while we were there for just over a week, 3 large trucks came and went, several overlanding motorbikes, a campervan and a fold away tent camping set up in a trailer, plus a further landcruiser was stored whilst the owners went back to the Netherlands for xmas. David helped us to find a mechanic to replace our leaf springs in his yard. This meant we camped over his pit for a week!
Report Check-InStayed here for a couple of nights and left our car here while visiting Ko Si Chang. Plodd Stop is a great place for overlanders - plenty of parking even for very big vehicles. Dave, Les and their daughter Natalie are great hosts and make a lot of effort to make sure you have everything you need. Dave and Les overlanded from England to Thailand in Plodd - great to share stories with. We stayed in one of their rooms - very clean, spacious, aircon, hot showers. You can also camp - they have electric hook ups, water and bathrooms. They also have an inspection pit. Fast wifi. Lovely place!!
Report Check-InThis is a new (opening late 2015) purpose built Overlanders stop built by the owners that are overlanders.There is safe parking/camping for 6 overland vehicles and 2 apartments for rent on site. there are showers,toilets,laundry, sanitary station and hopefully coming soon a pit to work on your vehicle if need be and free internet connection.
