Latest Check-Ins

We don't regret stopping there. The owner explains the manufacturing process to you and shows you the maturing piece. Then he offers to taste their different cheeses. As French people we loved it, we finally found cheeses with flavor after 2 years of traveling. If you go to Nicaragua the taste of one of the cheeses is very similar to that of the "La Garnacha" cheese factory. Price it's not cheap, you have to count around 4000C for a piece of cheese.

Good cheese with different types and seasoning, a bit expensive compare to same kind of cheese in France, but it's good to find decent cheese on a trip of a year!

Katia and Wilbert learned from an old swiss farmer how to make good aged goat and cow cheese. Many of them with spices. Their seven cows provide all the milk for the cheese, yoghurt, cream cheese they produce and sell. About 10.000colones/kg cow cheese, 11.000colones/kg goat cheese and 500colones/l milk. Milk the tend to have to sell only short after milking the cows at 7am and 7pm because all of it ends up in diary production short after.

Looking forward to visit the finca la Granacha in Nicaragua which produces the diary with the knowledge of the same swiss farmer.

Sooooo good and very cheap for what you get. Best cheese on our trip!

Cheeses both from cow and goat milk. They have everything from mozzarella to parmesan with the largest variety of the three months old ones. The price is by grams, you can choose anything from the whole piece to small section. The price is around 6000 for the entire small "loaf", but depends on type. If you visited La Garnacha in Nicaragua, this is the same cheese plus the herbs, of course more expensive than in Nica. Still ok price for small producer.
