Absolutely beautiful views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. Clean pit toilets, free, quiet,...what more could you ask for?

Report Check-In

Spent a couple nights here due to weather and not wanting to be on the road. Beautiful reservoir. Lots of pit toilets that are clean and have paper. Garbage cans and spacious sites. I would stay here longer but there is zero cell coverage.

Easy to get to off of 50. 1.5 miles in on dirt road. There was a large Class A with toad, a large tow behind and a Class C here while I was here. 17 BLM sites spaced well apart. Trash cans by pit toilets as well as a dumpster by enterence. Pit toilets were clean with toilet paper. Sites had picnic table with cover overhead and privacy fence, fire ring and BBQ grill. Beautiful surrounding views. No water available that I noticed.

Wonderful established free campground with tons of spots on or off beach and bathrooms etc.

Gets windy but usually calms down at night. A lot of other rigs (20 or so) but fairly quite

Great spot. Easy drive from Ely. We arrived around 6:00pm on a Sunday and had no trouble finding a spot. Beautiful evening sitting by the fire and watching the sunset. Several of the other campers were here to scout for the upcoming antelope season. Would definitely stay here again.

Great overnighter, we got a spot on the lake with fire ring and picnic table close enough for the kids to play in the lake. The strong wind died at dark but then the bugs came out! No mosquitoes that I could tell. Lots of ducks in the lake and the fish loved the bugs.

Beautiful free campground. Many spots with covered picnic tables. Rainbow and brown trout in the lake. Easy access by gravel road. This is a great place. One intermittent bar of AT&T.

Great campsite, no one else there when we pulled in at 0130. Free sites, well maintained, clean toilets.

Campsites with firepits, covered picnic tables, grills, pit toilets. Beautiful blue water, with a boat launch - some algae along the shore that would’ve been gross to wade in, but there’s a little cove to the left of the boat launch that’s great for swimming. Bring your own firewood. Wind was so bad on our second day that we had to pack up, leave, and go to a hotel in Ely, as the other tent campers did. But we came back the next day for hiking and swimming. Even though there were plenty of other campers, we didn’t cross paths or even hear anyone else the entire time we were there. (Picture is of the campground from the top of the hill.)

Great free BLM place in the mountains. Better designed for an RV or van set-up, but I managed in my tent. Just off the main road and easy to drive to (at least on a dry day) even with my little low-clearance Subaru. About 30 miles from the nearest town, Ely. Has fire pits, a covered table, and a grill. At night, you’ll hear all the coyotes.
