Is open again after 5 month ! Is now possible to go to the ruins. At escudo jaguaro office open at 7.00 am you can pay for the lancia ( boat transportation) official prices from 1 to 4 people 1800 ( I do not know why but they charge me 1200) 5 to 7 people 2000 and 8 to ? 2700 phone 9161275006 or 502 53286967 you have to pay the ticket to the ruins 150 pesos pp at the blue building near the embarcadero. On archeological site you find guides, we pay 400 in 2 person for 2h tours.
Standard time is 2h if you stay longer 100 pesos per hours , worth extending time of visit.
There is a small building (the labyrinth) that is dark bring a torch to see the inside.
Get early to escape the hot weather.
You also have to pay Comunity fee when you enter the village I think was 40 ppp
They just open and they are still cleaning the jungle from branches and leafs and the second acropolis was close.

The place is close due cartel activity no lancia leaving from town , armed local people stop you at entry of the town and send you back.

Sight is closed since a few weeks. They have problems with the cartel. We spoke with the chief of town at the barrier, approx. 100 m before the village entry sign. A lot of armed men. He said it could be last for years. So check it in advance before you drive here.

Awesome ruins! We shared a boat with a family, 6 of us total and paid 1200p for the boat plus 90p entry each to the ruins and 30p entry to the town. All in, 320p to visit the ruins per person and totally worth it. It’s convenient to wait at the town entrance for other tourists to come since everybody has to stop at the same building, then you can find people to share the boat with easily before anyone has agreed to anything.
The ruins were very cool, almost nobody else there, and have good signage in English. Don’t miss going inside the 2 story creepy building in the ruins. Bring good shoes, very jungly and slippery stones. The boat ride (~45 min each way) was pleasant also, saw a big croc!

One of the most beautiful ancient maya city I have ever been in the middle of the jungle, have clean bathrooms, the only way to get there is on boats, you can pay with credit card only on NUEVA ALIANZA, also it’s better to your pocket go on a boat with more people, the ride on the boat goes around $1500 pesos mexicanos, the boat allows 10 people.
