Amazing spot in the middle of nowhere. It has a perfect view of Mt. Rainier, a fireplace, but no water. Its good for camping but not ideal for RVs.
20min drive up the hill, till you reach a forest opening, than take the small road on the left. There is two spots on top of each other. You will be alone.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Awesome view of Rainier. I parked on the lower spot since it had a better view of the mountain but it wasn't very level. No T Mobile reception. Only saw 2 other vehicles come by and then turn around. The upper spot might be able to fit a couple vehicles. Like others have said, the last half mile or so is tight quarters and you'll likely get some scratches.
Report Check-InSO different in the winter. 4WD only. well worth the trek. absolutely gorgeous
Report Check-InVery busy on a Saturday night. We saw 7 other vehicles where this spot is marked, and many more while leaving Sunday morning. There are a lot of pull out options so we stayed about a quarter mile short of the spot marked with a view. There still is a decent view of the mountain with a short walk, but not spectacular.
Potholes at beginning of forest road are brutal. Last mile of the road is very bumpy and the last half mile is very narrow as noted. Scraped a lot of branches with our high roof 2wd transit, but overall fine. We did see a Camry that made it to the top (then turned around) so it’s definitely doable. Maybe avoid on the weekends since it’s a long bumpy drive to not have to yourself or that great of a view.
Verizon signal was spotty, not really useable where we were.
Wasn’t the worst road in the world, the last 1/2 mile stretch is odd, but it’s well worth it. We were able to turn our 158” Sprinter at site. Had to use leveling blocks. Full Verizon service, no att on hotspot. Cross your fingers for a clear view.
Report Check-InJust as described - remote spot with amazing views of ranier if the clouds cooperate. Took a solid 30mins to get to from the main road. At first I was confused by the comments of the narrow road... then I got to the final 5-10mins. Seems a little sketchy at that point, but completely fine (made it in my 2wd ford econoline high top).
Be sure to pack out your own trash as well as any trash left behind by others. Amazingly has full Verizon cell service.
Report Check-Innice open area. Room for maybe 2 set ups. great view of Mount Rainier. just before the clearing of the other campsite listed on here take the road up the hill to the right. much much better spot. if you don't like getting your vehicle scratched this isn't the site for you. The road leading here is very overgrown. there is a redneck engineered toilet if you walk up the trail leaving out of the campsite a bit.
Report Check-InWonderful spot to camp with the view of the mountain.
The road is all up hill and wash board is bad on the corners. Otherwise beautiful drive.
It was overcast and rained so it can get a little dirty at the campsite.
Clean and worth it!
Just as described. Great view of Mt. Rainier. We got here in our 2wd sprinter van. The road is narrow at the top and will scrape your rig up.
4 bars of Roaming with Sprint.
This is definitely a secluded spot. The road isn't very maintained so it was a little cozy for the last half mile or so. The site itself wasn't level at all so we ended up parking right on the road. It was also cloudy when we got in so there wasn't a view of Rainier, but the other mountains were visible. Also, be prepared for snow.
