Large place to stay near the road but no traffic. Little bit windy. Good view of ocean. Good cell coverage from Telus and Koodo here, full bar for phone signal, data is LTE, decently fast but not LTE+, can stream up to 720p. If you go in toward Meat Cove, about 2km, it becomes spotty and sometimes no coverage.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Next best thing when the Meat Cove Ridge spot is already full ! Beautiful views and sunset. Very quiet during the night.
Report Check-InAssez grand comme spot. Nous étions 4 dont a s’y être arrêté. Une vue magnifique avec un super levé du soleil. Très tranquille et sécuritaire.
Report Check-InGravel area enough area for a few people. Beautiful water views. Quiet all night. Took a little maneuvering to get a comfortable level on the right side. The road up is a little rough and very scenic The road past is in way worse condition fill of small pot holes so go very slow.
Report Check-InBeautiful sunset and cliffs. It’s quite a large spot and you can hear the sound of animals.
Report Check-InGreat Place. Agree with all the other comments. 5 Bars with Verizon wireless.
Report Check-Ingood spot but not ideal for tents. no grass or soft ground to set up aside from one possible spot very close to the cliffs down a path. would be good for a camper, beautiful view, a bit windy.
Report Check-InI arrived around 4:45pm and loved this spot. There was another larger RV already there but there was still room for my Sprinter. I stayed for a few hours, until some people decided to start a new fire in 25mph winds, without a fire pit, just had firewood lying on tall deadening grass. I had faced my van into the wind so the fire and smoke were coming right at me. Matchbox waiting to happen, so I left. :-(
It is beautiful, though! Hopefully when you’re here you have neighbors with better camping etiquette.
As described. No services. Spectacular view and nice breeze. V Popular - we got there around 3pm and by dark were sharing the spot with 3 other overnighters. Come early :)
Report Check-InLarge flat Belvedere with a splendid view. Can be multiples small to medium véhicule. Next to the road but very quiet road at night.
Report Check-InThis spot is popular. The view is so amazing. I pulled in here at 6pm and already 2 other camper vans are here. People settle in way too early lol. If you travel peak season, gotta come early, it fills up quick. However this space is quite spacious, there's enough room for another camper. The road is not bad at all , it's less than 1.5km dirt road but in good condition, the road gets worse in about 2km farther in toward Meat Cove, some pot holes, but I don't think it's too bad, no 4×4 needed. All our vans here tonight are 2WD, mine is the oldest 1994. Definitely not as bad as thr 6014 road. I talked to another van today and she said she didn't stay at the spot on 6014 road either because the road is too horrible and she didn't feel safe like I did. This spot is a much safer option, didn't take much effort to drive in, the road is good, and in my opinion the view is much better than the one up on 6014 road. The Meat Cove campground fill up very fast due to peak season, this is a much better alternative if you don't need a shower.
Report Check-InAmazing spot ! Stayed there for one night, we were two vans. Plenty of room.
Report Check-InLarge enough for a few van like my Savana. Quiet but maybe less if it is windy.
Report Check-InFlat turnoff from Meat Cove Road Abu 1.5 km after the pavement ends, but road in is good. Several cars stopped for the view as we were setting up our tents and fixing dinner, but all seemed to be tourists like us. Great view. Would stay there again, though wind can be an issue.
Report Check-InWe decided to skip over the crowed campground at Meat Cove and stay here instead. We had a magical night here with no traffic after dark- A local guy named Wild Showed up for a chat and was very friendly. Be sure to set your alarm to catch the sunrise! It’s so beautiful.
Please take your garbage with you and maybe clean up anything that others left behind!
Super la vue y est magnifique assez tranquille même si on est en bordure de la route
Report Check-InBeautiful view and very quiet. The only traffic was from campers staying at the campground down the road (check out Meat Cove Beach out that way, it's lovely!).
Report Check-Inthere is no burnt out car anymore, just an abonded red horse trailer.
Report Check-InThere is a burnt out car right in the middle of the spot now. Gives it a slightly grim vibe so didn’t stay. Otherwise Meat Cove is a pretty little spot.
Report Check-InNice view of the water right off the side of the road. A little breezy but we stayed a day after Hurricane Dorian so.. They were a few fire rings and no misquotes! Also good phone signal.
Report Check-InNice spot with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We spent the night with 4 other campers. But very quiet. Nice sunrise but a little bit windy.
Report Check-InGreat spot with awesome view. Not a lot of space but we were 3 vehicule with enough left with 2 other. There is a lot of dust due to the road. No toilet, no water.
Report Check-InThere was 1 other camper when we arrived. We talked to a few locals before hand as we took a whale watching tour with Captain Cox’s zodiac (best $50 I’ve ever spent), and he said that people camped there all the time. We watched the sunset over the ocean from our roof and then had a really quiet and restful night with no worries. There’s only enough space for 2 RVs, or 1 24+ft.
Report Check-Inthree other campers shared this space with us for the night. could have squeezed in a couple more. as lobster season ended two days ago we watched the mackerel fishing boats in the late afternoon. beautiful views and very quiet at night. the other boondocking sites closer to meat Cove are already filled but this was a great location
Report Check-InLarge place to stay near to the road but no traffic (3 cars in 12h). Little bit windy but a magic view on the ocean.
