This is just the most amazing place, you can't miss it!
We arrived to the lake after almost an hour from the closest city, and we were amazed by the view of the lake. The way is not hard, but a bit long and there are no shops nearby, so take everything you need.
We did wild camping a few meters from the lake. We could do a fire, but since the area is pretty wet, we brought our own wood. It is also cold at night.
Don't miss the trekking to Fuya Fuya! Takes a bit more than 3 hs to go up and down.
BUT be careful! While we were doing the trekking, somebody open our car... Nothing was missing because probably the alarm scared the guy. We were lucky...So try to leave your car where other campers are. (Because one might think the area is peaceful and lonely but you can't trust..as we did...)
Anyway we loved the place. One of our favourites.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Perfect spot! Rainy season had a few good puddles to get through, but the bottom is stone and you will be just fine! Spent a spooky evening in the thick of fog! Our first silent night in a long time
Report Check-InAt the very, very end of the road, right next to the lake. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL, but you are not alone on weekends. Arrived Friday, just before a group of teens. They were there for camping right next to us: we didn’t mind, it was too COLD anyway, to sit outside. Saturday in the morning they were gone, but a lot of day tourists arrived, hiking up the Fuya Fuya. Also at our spot plenty of pick-ups arrived, but didn’t stay long. We enjoyed our 2 night here very much, during which we even took an extremely cold “shower” in the lake.
