Description

Typical national park campground. You can walk to the nearby lake for swimming. Don't miss the "sky circle" at night - very good experience and a short walk from your campsite. No WiFi , Weak Cell Signal, Shower Building very far away from camp sites.

Typical Campground, now with lots of washrooms, which were clean. Nice sky at night.

National historic site is closed for this season, also the kiosk at the beach.

We have been here for the past 2 nights. We weren’t sure what we’d find here but the park is very nice. Great hikes, canoe rental beach right next to our camp loop. But the most interesting parts for us were the chance to see a 21’ birch bark canoe being made by a 7th generation MicMak (sp?) First Nations person. Very informative and a lot of history to share. We are also going to a special site that has original petroglyphs in the park (reservations required). This is the first time I’ve heard of petroglyphs east of the Mississippi…

This is one of the nicest parks we have been to. The washroom and showers facilities are very clean and each stall is a private room. It is totally handicap accessible. There is water bottle filling stations in the buildings. We enjoyed the long bike trails. Each stopping spot has access to the lake on the trail and they are all wonderful views. There is remote rustic cabins available and yurts as well as the facilities I provided picture if.

New shower buildings throughout each loop. None are more than a 30sec walk away. $26 unserviced /night. WiFi at visitor centre.

Update: Is about $28 for an unserviced site. Was in the first loop and found it beautiful. Very private and nice forest scenery with the lake peaking through the trees. Safe to say I had a good spot along the water side. Did find having the shower block so far away a bit inconvenient but so so, guess bring a bike or have a portable vehicle (or walk the 5-10mins). Shower pressure not fabulous for being the only user also. Visitor centre, shower building & canteen at beach have wifi (minimal but enough to send/receive messages.. not load photos)
