Description

About 6km out of Sesfontein (direction heading to Purros) you will come across a picnic table on your left You will see many tracks going into the bush around there. Turn left after the curve and picnic table Follow the Hoanib dry river bed, which be on your right when driving into the bush. You can’t really get into the river bed or drive in it as it’s pretty narrow, with lots of trees in it.

The sand is soft but you don’t really need a4x4. This spot is about 1km in and away from the main road. But the area has endless spots to set up camp with lots of trees and bush. Not sure if you are allowed to free camp here but no one came and it was very quiet. We arrived at 4.30pm and left after 9am! No sign of any dangerous animals! Lovely spot and would recommend :)

There can be some 4x4 passing by before the night as it’s a well known track area but I’m sure you’ll manage to be all alone and quiet for the night.
Amazing stary sky.
The sand is only soft in very few areas.
