For day visitors: Gate opens at sunrise, you can drive to the dunes and pay the day permit before you leave the park at the office inside (80 p.P. and 10 for the car). You drive 60 km on paved road, the last 4 km to the dunes/Deadvlei is 4x4 only or you can take a shuttle (170 p.P. both way)
June-August open since 6 am
September-May/June open since 7.30-18.15
Price 2021: 350$ for 2 persons and one car.
The price increases to 350$ for 2 person and one car (day visitors). For that money you can drive 60km paved road to the dunes and then very sandy track (only 4x4).
I found it very expensive for what you get.
The transfer at the last 3.5km with loose sand is ND170 per person, only 4 cars driving up and down so with hundreds of people it came close to some fighting. Very poorly managed so drive it yourself. And for those who rent a 4x4 and have no clue; lower your tyre pressure to 1.2-1.5 bar and engage high range 4 wheel drive and you’ll cruise through.Report Check-In

Same above! Take care at the end of the pavef road, they asked us 170 pp one way and return for Big Daddy dune and deadvlei (they are together). So we consider it was a big scam!! Better go first to the little white container/office anw2wwwwwwd pay them. Also u can go by walking but so hoooot!!Report Check-In
