Latest Check-Ins

We spent one night here without any issue, there were a few people around in the evening (cycling, walking or training) and then we were left alone. The trains are indeed very loud and earplugs are an absolute necessity (but even with those, you might still be bothered if you're sensitive to noise, like my partner :(.) Toilets were closed.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Beware! Some guys tried to stole our bikes while week-end were in the van. We knock so they left. Week-end moved to the Walmart.

Report Check-In

a bit noisey but we werent bothered by anyone. no other campers but the carpark was busy due to a baseball game. bathrooms were good and open at night and in the morning.

Report Check-In

nice place. close to city center. noisy cause of train but thats Canada way ;-)

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Well two of us vans, with bikes, parked here without incident. Feels like the trains never stop, though they are moving slowly, on an elevated track to boot. Train activity was reduced after midnight. Many people here in the evening for baseball game, tending their gardens and racing RC cars. All quiet overnight. Then a car full of teenagers peels in about 7AM to do doughnuts on the lawn. Keep off the grass and get to class! 😠

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

A big parking lot,you can park for free. Left my Van here and went to the city. approximately 20 min walk.No toilets and the train runs near by but I think it's a good place to spend the night if you want to spend a few days in the city.

Report Check-In

⚠️ BE AWARE ⚠️ someone attempted to break into our van here this morning (05:00) - luckily my partner scared him off but he had successfully broken into a truck that was parked nearby. The police came within 15 minutes and told us that it was unfortunately a pattern that was emerging. Don’t want to scare anyone but please be cautious and take care.

Report Check-In

Nice place near the city center. Quiet and safe neighborhood. We have spent here two nights while we discovered Winnipeg and have no problem at all. Noisy trains during the night.

Report Check-In

Great place, close to the center. Green, has tables and the occasional baseball game.

Report Check-In

Small gravel parking lot next to the fort. The freight train can be a bit loud so if you are a light sleeper, use ear plugs.

Report Check-In

very big park with friendly security guy's. the place its almost quiet if the sound of a train passing by very often. for us wasn't a problem I had a peaceful rest and we meet 2 other couples in travel. park in the same spot of us .

Report Check-In

Great Great spot in the middle of the city. lots of trails around.

We stayed 5 nights and nobody came bother.

The only inconvenience is the noise. we slept by the tracks before but this spot has much more trains passing. we would wake up at least twice a night (but still worth it).

Report Check-In

nice place. lots space to walk around. dog friendly. train came by now and then but didn't bother us. stayed in a 30ft travel trailer parking along the back so we had the grass on when we owner the it stairs. Fort looked cool but closed at 4pm. we snuck in for a few minutes to look around. nice trails behind the fort along the river

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Very enjoyable. We parked in the lawn behind the actual parking lot with our 4x4 + RTT. Next to a ball park so we enjoyed a game while watching the sunset. SaniJohn next to the ball park and trash/recycling bins in several locations. The trains are frequent but go by pretty slow.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot to camp out for a night, can either tent on the massive grass plots or stay in a trailer, parking lot is big enough for small setups but big RVs will have some trouble. No issues with security or anything. Bathrooms are close by but locked. Trains going by all the time but easy to sleep regardless. 5min bike to downtown Winnipeg!

Report Check-In

This is a very good spot for staying a couple days. We stayed twice in two weeks. The train is kind of loud, but it almost can rock you to sleep :)
Also, a cop showed up and said: “i notice you have your bicycles locked at the back of your van with a lock that is easy to break. I would advise caution because it is a high theft area and we want you to have a nice visit of Manitoba.” What a good cop

Report Check-In

Très bien! Tranquille.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

good place to stay, we stay one night,
calm and very nice neighborhood.

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot (gravel) thats about a 20 minute walk to the forks. Lots of space and when Fort Gibraltar is open (May, Jun, Aug) there would probably even be public toilets.
But I could not sleep well, there were a lot of loud trains all night long.

Report Check-In

Parking lot was ok! Good data coverage. Not a lot of privacy but pretty quiet (when we forgot the train just beside!)

Report Check-In

Parking lot near fort gibraltar. Not the most quiet, trains during the night. We got woken up by..... a hot air balloon !!!
Still a great spot in the city.

Report Check-In

Pretty big parking lot just next to Fort Gibraltar, also next to Winnipeg city center but in a calm area with calm neighborhood.
No problem for the overnight stay with our van.
The train rail is next to the parking so it's noisy but ok to sleep.

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights here and for the day. Noisy because of the trains but really pleasant place (grass, space, trees, historical site, base ball playground, small local garden). We let the vehicle here and used our bikes to visit the city. There is a small and nice path to go directly. Just trains can be a disturb.

Report Check-In

Good place to stay one or several nights. Very closed to "The forks" and St Boniface. Quiet except trains. Toilets are open during Fort Gibraltar operation hours.

Report Check-In

perfect place to spend the night! it's a 30 minuten walk to downtown. But beside "The Fork" on the riverside - there isn't much to see! Yes, you hear the train about once an hour but it didnt disturbe us (put pluggs in my ear😉)

Report Check-In

Nice spot. Basically a carpark of a few things owned by the city. No signs and a couple of RVs overnight. as mentioned, noisy at times with train tracks right next to it.

Report Check-In

Great spot, quiet apart from the train but it doesn't honk so it is perfectly bearable.

Report Check-In

Nice green parking lot in a quit neighborhood, but very noisy as trains pass by very often.

Report Check-In

We arrived around 9.30pm, parking lot was empty. Police came and knocked around midnight to check out what we were doing (we have a mini van). We explained we were sleeping here and just arrived earlier. They let us stay here for the night. It is a very safe neighborhood, but trains all night long.

Report Check-In

Good spot to stay in the city close to the center. Quit, but noisy trains passing by every now and then. No toilets, but bushes. No other people on the parking lot over night. Safe neighborhood.
