Parked for 2 nights right on the beach between the two bars that also rent surf boards. They close early and both had friendly security guys there all night that let us use the toilets. Wifi available at the bar on the left, but they are hesitant to give out the password.
Good surf at Remanso but probably better a 15 minute walk south to Playa El Tamarindo. Access road is a little rough but no 4x4 or high clearance required. Great spot to get away from noisy San Juan and be first in the water in the morning.

We slept on the same street that is marked, but a little further back, before the bars, so we didn't have to pay anything, but we also didn't have any facilities. Very quiet and we felt safe, we slept with the doors open. Good 4G signal from Claro.
Report Check-InWe spent one night here ask the restaurants and they were ok also Robertito has surf lesson 30 usd for two hours. road is very narrow but enough space to turn around. Quiet night everyone left at 8 pm
Report Check-InWe parked and spent 1 nights here with no issues. As you walk towards the beach the restaurant on the right“Tacos” has lousy overpriced food. Not the best beach around.
Report Check-InSweet spot right at the beach! The bar owners were super chilled about it (we grabbed a few beers from the one on the left and got the wifi). Pull up to the beach spot after everyone leaves around 8pm and they asked us to move back by 8am before people got there. There’s a night watchman, we made him a coffee and he kept the washrooms open until he left around 7am. Make him happy and tip him a little bit! Amazing free oceanside spot!
Report Check-InOne Thing: No cell service and the wifi of the bars doesn't reach very far. We preferred Playa Maderas, friendlier vibe, more space, and cell service. The waves at Playa Maderas are a bit messier though.
Report Check-InStayed here a night on the left close to the garbage bin because we thought we would be most out of the way there. We asked the guy who is selling coconuts if it was fine to park there. Had a few drinks at the bar (check your bill, they won't give you a proper one and add 20% tip on top). They gave us the WiFi when we asked, but he typed it in. (Pro tip: with android you can see and share the password anyways).
Before we went to the bar "Robertito" talked to us and asked if we were camping and we said yes (he has the little board rental shack). He said he had places to rent or to camp but we said we would rather stay closer to the surf.
The next morning he kept annoying us to move the car around, first a bit backwards and later in the evening he wanted us to leave completely. Didn't like his vibe from the beginning and I think he doesn't want campers.
The beach is perfect for beginners to surf, but maybe park a bit further down away from the beach. It's a pretty tight road anyways.
Report Check-InSpent one night without an issue. Used the restaurant at the bar to the left (facing ocean). Felt safe.
Report Check-InBetween two bars, this small beach away from San Juan del Sur is great for a few days. There are two restaurants here, Slaudy bar on the left is more welcoming and cheaper. Definitely a surfer vibe. I can only imagine what the surfing is like here when there are waves.
Report Check-Instayed here as the waves were a bit more forgiving in a big swell. parked between the two bars and were very welcome by everybody. bar on the left has wifi, but they just connect u (dont give u the pswrd). works well though. we were later told, that they had left the bathroom open for us at night if we wanted. :) nice vibe and alright prices for food and drinks.
