Description

After the first camp site on IO you have to cross the river a couple of times... Can do it by car without 4x4 as the river is not deep at all. The higher you go following the river the warmer is the water. There is a perfect temperature place where you will find some locals doing there laundry and bath
It is a warm river that meet the hot one. We dig a little hole in between so one Person can fit on. Just the best camp site we hade in Bolivia with nice snowed views. By night Is the coolest camp site we had as well.

Latest Check-Ins

It is not possible to reach to this point with 4WD. The path ends before. Big obstacles before on the track.
only by hike or bike!

Nice primitive campground's bevor.

Fantastic spot to camp! We had to go a little bit downstream as the water was already too hot here!

There’s now a rope and a sign stating that it’s forbidden to enter the path and wash laundry (right after passing the thermal baths). We still drove through and met a guy from the municipality who told us the same. When we explained that we only wanted to camp he was fine and even suggested to go further up the river to get the best temperatures :)

Made it actually past this spot to where the road ends at the hottest point of the river with our Toyota Tacoma. This place is absolutely luxurious and you’ll find deep little pools that are like hot tubs! There is some trash in some spots but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t nearly as bad as other spots in Bolivia, probably because it’s harder to get to. Enjoy!! We stayed 3 amazing days here and hiked back into The Valley (not doable during rainy season)

Couldn‘t make it with our Toyota Hiace 4WD (no high clearance), as some of the river crossings are really deep right know. We walked up the track to check it and made some photos. Camped further down by the other wild camp on iOverlander. Beautiful nature around, sadly locals come here to wash and there is a lot of garbage around.

After crossing several rivers with our chevy 2wd we reached the end of the road where is the amazing bubbling spring

Really nice place to camp. Continue just a little farther up from here and you'll find where the hot water is bubbling up, make a much warmer river.

A little bit of trash here, mainly plastic bottles. I picked up a few. If we all keep this place clean it will continue to be an amazing wildcamp with thermal water.

Report Check-In

we continued further up and camped right next to much nicer and hotter water.
